KEMPTON PARK RACES 2016 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #35 16th NOVEMBER

Not long to go this year and we still carry on in profit, as we progress to the 35th meeting of the season we do seem to be in good form and the success of the season long "lay bets" too has been impressive given they are generally short price favourites.

The fact that our results are declared to SP I think it's clear we would be well ahead to advanced prices. So we crack on with our regular Wednesday nights at Kempton all the way through until the years end. The season has seen us ebb and flow, last week we picked up another couple of points and therefore showing a profit of
+5.91 points. All being equal we can find some more winners and now continue through into the turn of the year.

As always our focus will be on the handicap contests for each meeting but will occasionally include a feature listed or conditions event too. Keeping records of our endeavours to a 1pt level stake at SP, naturally we will personally be looking to get better odds but for the purpose of the results we record to SP.

We will keep up with our occasional lay opportunity of short priced favourites, we were back with another successful lay last week [we've only had two failures all season, both of which were odds on favs] which isn't bad when most are short prices as a result we now have a success rate of 17 from 20. Results for this will be kept separately too and hopefully we can remain at +85% for the rest of the year.

This week there's another eight race card on offer, we have three handicap contests to review and tonight's action will commence at 16:10 with a 1m 2f handicap. We will also include the 18:40 Listed event over 1m.

Here is a link to this evening's race card;
EVENING RACECARD

The going on the polytrack surface is described as Standard to Slow and the current weather forecast is for a dry evening with a max temperature of about 8C when the meeting gets underway and remain cold but dry during the evening. The weather is predictable for Winter is drawing near now and it's time to get the gloves and jumpers out.
Here are our selections for this evening's handicap races and the listed event at 6:40pm;

16:10 -- 1m 2f Handicap.
Fourteen declared for the opening handicap and it's a belated 3yo appearance this season for bottom weight ZORAVAN [9th 7/1] , ex Dermot Weld inmate and could be thrown in here on his UK debut
.

18:40 -- 1m Listed Stakes.
The 3yo ENNAADD [WON 5/2] will have to improve again to land the four timer but looks on the upgrade and won here comfortably last time out although the winning margin was officially a head seemed to have much more than that as long as his jockey doesn't leave it too late this time.

Sovereign Debt has the class to cause them all problems but doesn't have the same level of form on the AW than on Good/Soft ground.

19:10 -- 2m Handicap.

The stayers handicap has attracted a dozen runners, where top weight might not stop ORIENTAL FOX [9th 20/1] who stays longer than the mother in law and has enjoyed recent success at Pontefract. Consistency is the key to HIGHER POWER [WON 11/10F] and stepping up in trip might be the trick to another win for a horse that has been placed on his last six outings.

19:40 -- 1m 4f Handicap.

The finale tonight can go to Godolphin with their 3yo TIMEKEEPING [4th Evens], only had the two runs last year and should be good enough to justify strong support.

Staked -- 5 points
Returns -- 5.6 points.

Results for tonight will be updated through the evening looking to add to the overall profit figure
+5.91. We made a small gain tonight, the profit value now up to +6.51.

Lays -- 17/20. [17:40 - CHESSMAN [WON 9/4], boooo. racecourse debut here for John Gosden, with Hadeeqa the big danger.]

Our next Wednesday evening meeting at this course will be on 23rd November, it's back to a regular weekly fixture till the end of the year so see you next week.
