KEMPTON PARK RACES 2016 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #34 9th NOVEMBER

November time and still in profit so as we progress to the 34th meeting of the season we do seem to be in good form and the success of the season long "lay bets" too has been impressive given they are generally short price favourites.

The fact that our results are declared to SP I think it's clear we would be well ahead to advanced prices. So we crack on with our regular Wednesday nights at Kempton all the way through until the years end. The season has seen us ebb and flow, currently we have managed to turn our loss back into a small profit of +3.91 points. All being equal we can find some more winners and now continue through into the turn of the year.

As always our focus will be on the handicap contests for each meeting but will occasionally include a feature listed or conditions event too. Keeping records of our endeavours to a 1pt level stake at SP, naturally we will personally be looking to get better odds but for the purpose of the results we record to SP.

We will keep up with our occasional lay opportunity of short priced favourites, we were back with another successful lay last week [we've only had two failures all season, both of which were odds on favs] which isn't bad when most are short prices as a result we now have a success rate of 15 from 17. Results for this will be kept separately too and hopefully we can remain at +88% for the rest of the year.

This week there's another eight race card on offer, we have four handicap contests to review and tonight's action will commence at 16:25 with a 5f sprint handicap.

Here is a link to this evening's race card;
EVENING RACECARD

The going on the polytrack surface is described as Standard to Slow and the current weather forecast is for a dry evening with a max temperature of about 8C when the meeting gets underway and remain cold but dry during the evening. The weather is predictable for Winter is drawing near now and it's time to get the gloves and jumpers out.

Here are our selections for this evening's handicap races;

16:25 -- 5f Handicap.

Our opening race tonight is a low key handicap where despite ten runners only 3lb separates the field.

So plenty of interest in the 'top weight' PRESTO BOY [5th 5/1] with his jockey claiming 7lb off his back. Not a lot to beat here with the next best probably CADLAND LAD [Non Runner] with champion apprentice Josephine Gordon in the saddle.

16:55 -- 5f Handicap.
Another sprint handicap to follow but better grade and more open amongst the 10 declared runners. Josephine Gordon has another good chance here with OUTRAGE [5th 7/2] who was running another good race when hampered last time at Chelmsford, that will be out first selection here.

We also like the possibilities of DYNAMO WALT [WON 8/1] and will dutch the pair against the field.

19:25 -- 1m 3f Middle Distance Handicap.

A good event now with a class two handicap for the middle distance series, 13 declared and not many without a chance so going to be hard to pick one, we do like the profile of ROCK STEADY [2nd 8/1] who has form around here and of his ten races to date a winner of two with a further five places to his credit. George Baker is replaced by a claimer on that selection and is himself riding SAM MISSILE [4th 11/4] who is another with winning form here although is moving up in class.

19:55 -- 1m 3f Handicap.
Our final race tonight and an old friend reappears ESTIBDAAD [6th 10/1] tries to go one better than he did a couple of weeks ago and should be worth a chance of doing just that while in good heart. We will match that one with TYRSAL [7th 8/1] who was 3rd in the same race as our other selection above.

Staked -- 8 points
Returns -- 10 points.

Results are coming in tonight and a nice winner in the 4:55 race (plus non runner in the opener) adding to a near miss in the 7:25 gives us a small profit of 2 points thus increasing our overall profit figure to +5.91.

Lays -- 17/19
. [None tonight]

Our next Wednesday evening meeting at this course will be on 16th November, it's back to a regular weekly fixture till the end of the year so see you next week.
