OPENING GAME OF 2015/2016 FOOTBALL SEASON. AFC WIMBLEDON vs PLYMOUTH ARGYLE

SATURDAY 8th AUGUST 2015

So here we are again, the Football League 2015/16 season kicks off on Saturday 8th August and for AFC WIMBLEDON it’s our 5th season in League Two so perhaps about time to make a push into League One as we've been in this league long enough for it to be getting boring now. (joking)

With a fairly successful pre-season under our belts, the performances certainly as important and often outweighing the results, but the most important part was no significant injuries for a change.

In addition the club have brought in some experienced new recruits to complement our existing band of brothers and youngsters, not forgetting new sponsorship deals being made (John Green) and the expected news about the redevelopment of Plough Lane stadium it’s been a summer of joy, and means that things at Kingsmeadow are looking very positive under Neal Ardley.

Onwards to today, and our opening home fixture is against the green army of PLYMOUTH ARGYLE.

First Half Comment;

Early Dons pressure failed to get us the goal it deserved with attempts from Francomb and Taylor being cleared for corners.

We really need to improve on our set piece delivery as we've had 10 corners this half and most being completely wasted. Therefore it's no surprise that the Dons get punished for this wastefulness by conceding a goal on 39 mins to Argyle's Gregg Wylde.

F/T Score – 0 - 2
