2020/21 FA CUP SECOND ROUND DRAW -- MONDAY 9th NOVEMBER

 2020/21 EMIRATES FA CUP

The draw for the Second Round of this seasons Emirates FA Cup will be made later on Monday night live on BBC TV, another sure sign that winter is soon to be upon us. While we are currently playing behind closed doors in League One it will be good to mount a reasonable Cup run again having done well against Premier League sides in recent years, although it won't be the money spinner it has been for obvious reasons, winning games is a good habit so we might as well try and get some big ties, once we over come the opening rounds of course. Unfortunately due to some failed Covid-19 tests on Friday our first round game vs Barrow AFC was postponed, so both sides are in the second round draw, but we will have to wait to see if/when our tie can be completed.

The draw is live on BBC Two from approximately 7pm hosted by Mark Chapman, with the draw itself being made by guest former Lincoln City and Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley, who took the Imps into the quarter finals in 2017, having the honour of drawing the balls. Afc Wimbledon have been allocated ball number 30, if we can get our first round game against Barrow played soon. Well done to all the teams making it through the first round, particular mention to some of the non league sides such as Marine (beat Colchester on pens), Darlington (beat Swindon 2-1) and King's Lynn Town (beat Port Vale 1-0).
2020/21 EMIRATES FA CUP
The Full 2nd round draw will appear here during the evening as the ties are confirmed ... matches to be played over the period of 27th - 30th November To fit into a truncated schedule for the 2020–21 season, replays were removed from the competition. The prize fund has also been reduced this year, with figures returning to those last used in the 2017–18 FA Cup the winners in round two will therefore pick up £25,500 in prize money for their efforts.
