DAY SEVEN SUNDAY

Sunday is our final day of action here at Galway and the meeting will begin at 2:15pm with a 2m Handicap Hurdle.

The feature race today is the Ahonoora Handicap over 7f and will be under way at 3:55, where 16 runners face the starter for this sixty thousand euro contest.

As mentioned on day one our recent years have focused on the horses from trainer Dermot Weld and we will continue to track his progress this week though we might also offer one or two other selections in particular the feature races if no Weld runner is declared. And NEW for this season we intend to follow the success of JP O'Brien who often has a nice priced winner and seems to have taken well to training and has the ability to be as good as his father in time.

Neither of our trainers have a representative in the feature handicap today so will have a look at what intrigues us from the field later. 

Both MAGICAL WISH [10th 12/1] (Richard Hannon) and RUFUS KING [9th 5/1] (Mark Johnston)  come over from UK and look to have interesting chances, the home side will have TURNBERRY ISLE [4th 8/1] (A O'Brien) and MARSHALL JENNINGS [Non Runner] strongly fancied.

And sadly that's all from Galway for this years festival, plenty of exciting racing still to go this year but I hope you enjoyed yourselves. I did despite the disappointing run of results ... and I'll sure hope to be around to return here in 2020.
