KEMPTON PARK RACES 2016 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #20 29th JUNE

Lost a couple more points last meeting as such we are still showing a big loss of -60.59 points overall which is not great I agree, now we reach our 20th meeting on a Wednesday night here plenty of time to improve things as we enter the second half of the year.

Though not as good as recent seasons have begun we do still have plenty of time to recover things. At least the places paid a little bit and the LAY bets are also still losing (or winning, depending on your view) so I'm optimistic that things will turn in our favour soon.

As always our focus will be on the handicap contests for each meeting but will occasionally include a feature listed or conditions event too. Keeping records of our endeavours to a 1pt level stake at SP, naturally we will personally be looking to get better odds but for the purpose of the results we record to SP.

We will keep up with our occasional lay opportunity of short priced favourites and as a result of yet another successful lay last time out we have a success rate of 9 from 9. Results for this will be kept separately too and hopefully we can remain at 100% for a long while yet.

This week there's a 7 race card on offer, 5 of which are handicaps and these will include another round in both the Jockey Club Sprint Series and the London Mile Series Qualifiers, the meeting will commence at 18:10 with the a 6f event for apprentice jockeys.

Here is a link to the evenings race card;

The going on the polytrack surface as usual is described as Standard and the current weather forecast is for a patchy day with sunshine but plenty of cloud. The temperature is likely to remain at about 24C when the meetings begins and will cool during the evening.

Here are our selections for this weeks handicaps, lacking time so just putting up selections this week;

18:10 -- 6f Apprentice Handicap.
Opening race is for Apprentices, and we'll cross through the two old horses here (Desert Strike / Doctor Parkes) in the anticipation of something younger taking the prize.

Regular AW scorer ELJADDAAF [WON 5/1] should be one to note, has won twice around here and still could be good enough in a race of this nature where form on the track should count for a fair bit.

19:40 -- 1m London Mile Series Handicap.
Field of 12 declared for the latest leg in the mile series, and we go with the course and distance winner HARRY HOLLAND [12th 25/1] along with the the in-form Mark Johnston runner ABAREEQ [WON 8/1]

20:10 -- 2m Handicap.
The stayers handicap is next up and a race where CD form is particularly useful so we add ROYAL REEF [WON 8/1] into our selections for today getting a handy bit of weight and has the exceptional talents of Jimmy Quinn to help.

The ex National Hunt jockey Timmy Murphy will know how to judge a 2 mile race and he's on PLANETOID [6th 33/1] and has been winning races over hurdles and on the AW this season.

Should both run well and are attractively priced against the field.

20:40 -- 1m 4f Handicap.
While the stables are in form it's best to keep them on side whatever the meeting so winners at Royal Ascot and Newcastle for Godolphin means WINTER HOUSE [4th 2/1F] should be looked at in this grade at 8/1

21:10 -- 6f Jockey Club Sprint Series Handicap.
A sprint finale to end with tonight for 3yo's only and we've 12 declared. ARLECCHINO'S ROCK [10th 10/1] has not run on the all weather as yet, so it's a risk but has been placed a few times in his short career and this might be the time to catch him at a decent price.

Likewise POP CULTURE [7th 33/1] has only had the four starts, but did win a fillies maiden at Newbury on her second outing and while not finding anything on couple of handicap starts is given another chance to show that win was no fluke on a surface that should suit and once again is a big price to do so which would be nice win/place.

Staked -- 8 points
Returns -- 24 points

Looks like a nice profitable evening for a change, first three winners putting us ahead by +16 points and although still behind on the year has at least made a small dent into that deficit.

Loss b/f from our last meeting >> -60.59 Points
Now on -44.59 points carried over to next meeting

Lays -- 10/10 (Still 100% none today).

Results will appear here during the course of Wednesday night.
