DAY FIVE

OUR FINAL DAY OF THIS SEASON'S MEETING .

WE GO AGAIN FOR SATURDAY, I USED TO REMEMBER THIS AS ASCOT HEATH DAY AND YOU COULD GET INTO THE COURSE FOR A POUND. ADMITTEDLY THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO BUT IT WAS ALWAYS PACKED AND MEANT REAL RACEGOERS COULD HAVE SOME FUN. ANYWAY THOSE DAYS ARE OVER NOW, LET'S HAVE A LOOK AT THE BIG RACES FOR SATURDAY;

2:30 CHESHAM STAKES 7f 2yo's -- Just the fifteen take the stage for Saturdays' opener and it's CUNCO that should attract plenty of interest being the son of the mighty Frankel and was the first of his progeny to win on the racecourse.

He along with fellow Frankel off spring FRANKUUS will have plenty of attention and I really hope one of them is victorious and keeps their 100% record.

2:30 Result
1st -- Churchill (R L Moore) 8/11F
2nd -- Isomar (J P Spencer) 25/1
3rd -- Cunco (R Havlin) 7/2

3:05 WOLFERTON HANDICAP 1m 2f -- Sixteen declared for this listed handicap event, we'll start with MALEFICENT QUEEN who comes here on back of a run of five wins from six career starts, could still be improving and a big run expected from this northern raider.

At a bigger price is WHAT ABOUT CARLO and the bottom weight can make use of his experience in similar events to go close at 20/1.

3:05 Result
1st -- Sir Issac Newton (R L Moore) 7/1
2nd -- Second Wave (A Kirby) 20/1
3rd -- Revolutionist (James McDonald) 9/1

3.40 HARDWICKE STAKES 1m 4f -- Group 2 with just the 10 declared, a race that Sir Michael Stoute usually wins (6 times in last 10 years). So both DARTMOUTH and EXOSPHERE should prove popular in the betting markets.

With the Godolphin team in good form this week it would be no surprise to see BEAUTIFUL ROMANCE run well too but I do hope that The Queen has a winner this week.

3:40 Result
1st -- Dartmouth (O Peslier) 10/1
2nd -- Highland Reel (J A Heffernan) 6/1
3rd -- Almodovar (G Baker) 9/1

4:20  DIAMOND JUBILEE STAKES 6f -- Today's Group 1 and 10 declared for the sprint, the American trained UNDRAFTED won this race last year but is deserted by Frankie Dettori who is on the likely favourite MAGICAL MEMORY.

4:20 Result
1st -- Twilight Son (R L Moore) 7/2
2nd -- Gold Fun (C Soumillon) 7/1
3rd -- Signs of Blessing (O Peslier) 25/1

5:00 WOKINGHAM STAKES HANDICAP 6f -- It's just not Ascot without a massive field handicap and today we've the Wokingham and 28 runners.

Ignore all the wins by Spring Loaded as they've been picked up on the all weather tracks of Kempton and Lingfield, this is a completely different box of tricks.

Recently second in a big field MUTAWATHEA will have good experience in this too, similarly BUCKSTAY plenty of that experience too and also winning form at the track so will be on the short list.

5:00 Result
1st -- Outback Traveller (M Harley) 10/1
2nd -- Brando (T Eaves) 7/1
3rd -- Glen Moss (P Makin) 25/1
4th -- Absolutely So (Oisin Murphy) 25/1

5:35 QUEEN ALEXANDRA STAKES 2m 6f  -- We conclude with the longest distance race on the Flat calendar, an event that is often targeted by the National Hunt trainers and although we are well represented with the likes of Charlie Mann, Alan King, Willie Mullins it's probably going to go to the flat trainers with one of the pair ORIENTAL FOX and PINZOLE our pick against the field.

The former was the a comfortable 7L winner last year where Wicklow Brave a well beaten favourite.

5:35 Result
1st -- Commissioned (A Kirby) 12/1
2nd -- Cayirli (T J Murphy) 40/1
3rd -- Clondaw Warrior (R L Moore) 7/2

BYE BYE FOLKS, SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR. LUV QUEENIE
