AFC WIMBLEDON v OXFORD UNITED -- LEAGUE ONE 2018-19 SEASON 29th SEPTEMBER

This weekend the Dons will play host to Oxford United who having used to being one of our bogie teams since our non league days they are not the big fish they once were and should be more of an even match this season.

Neither side are showing any consistent form in the league and appear capable of good performances when losing with the occasional win along the way. Three important points will be up for grabs, after both sides lost 2-1 in their previous league games a win is looking essential to stop the rot at the bottom end of the league one table. Oxford are currently in 23rd place in the league with only 5 points to show for their efforts so far, the Dons are not doing much better and struggling in 19th place on 8 points after their defeat to the mighty Accrington Stanley last weekend. Since the Dons will have another struggling team in Bradford as their next home match these two games could be a turning point, and it is time for our front line to step up and take some of the chances that are created as we continue to struggle for goals.

Will be interesting to see if King goes back in goal after being dropped for McDonnell last weekend, personally don't fault him for our recent form it is the midfield and forwards who are failing us.

Referee -- Our referee for this afternoon's big game will be Mr Robert Lewis who hails from Shrewsbury. A very experienced official we should be fine, averages about three yellow cards a game this season and the only Red Card issued by him was to a Franchise player in the game against Crewe so he can't be all that bad.
