PONTEFRACT SEASON 2018.Monday 8th October.
Welcome to this our 15th meeting of the year. There is just one more meeting to follow this.
The penultimate meeting as the season begins to draw to a close. As the nights draw in, Mondays in October can seem a bit dark but we’ve got something to brighten the darkest Autumnal day. There’s some really good racing on this day as many trainers try to get their horses to the track for one final run. Today's feature race looks to be the 'Leslie Burton (Fisher) Handicap' over a mile which will be off about 15:10, a race for 3yo's that appears to be at the mercy of recent Hamilton winner JAMIL.
We had a small loss last time around and we had to take a hit on our balance so we come into the final few meetings of the year behind to the tune of -22.825 to Starting Prices. There is still a few chances to get that back before the end of the season although there are only three more meetings including this one so we can hopefully get that back starting today. We will continue throughout this season to record ALL results for these fixtures which are returned to a level stake at Starting Price (SP), and will also show any forecast results too in the daily results but these do not count for the profit / loss figures.
The forecast going is now currently reported as 'Soft' the weather for Monday afternoon is for a generally cloudy day with some chance of showers but hopefully not too much rain to spoil the day We've a forecast maximum temperature around the 16C mark as we come to the end of the season here in Autumn.

We come into this meeting with a deficit for the season of -22.825 points to SP. Results from today will be updated later on at the end of the meeting. Only small winners today and a loss on this meeting of -9.125 so we now behind -31.95 points overall with only the ONE meeting left. That's a disappointing end to the season.
Our FINAL meeting for this season will be held on 22nd October 2018.
