And we are here to honour and celebrate ... (by which I really mean get drunk and generally take the piss) ... the great man himself "Dr The Rik Mayall".
Starting off on Friday morning it was great weather for the weekend and good decision to leave the jacket at home.
So warm when I finally arrived on Friday afternoon after a stressful journey by train from London via Norwich on a train without air-con, wi-fi or catering of any sort, so much for pre-booking a seat too.
"Outside it's Brundall"
A cheeky reference to the last time I was up in these parts, where we had a wonderful and adventurous holiday on the Norfolk Broads.
Arrived in the afternoon and checked myself into the Hotel on the sea front ( and NO the Pink Flamingo is not a gay hotel, it's actually just another arcade but you thought it would do better as a bar or restaurant? )
A gorgeous day and was straight out again onto the beach for the first of many a long walk along the front from both Wellington Pier to Britannia Pier at the other end of town. Also ventured in and out of plenty of the tacky arcades and shops as I made my way along.
An ice cream was essential though you have to keep an eye on the seagulls who will swoop without a second invitation.
Right is an image of the "famous" Windmill Theatre which is still standing but sadly closed (looks like it's been closed for a long time), now being used only as another shopping arcade.
