9th Meeting of this season ...
Our ninth instalment for our system that focuses on Pontefract racecourse, West Yorkshire and we've another evening fixture to enjoy.
Tonight's meeting is Red Shirt Night at Pontefract
Jack Berry and Red Shirt Night have a place firmly in the history of Pontefract Racecourse. As a trainer, Jack Berry was renowned for wearing his Red Shirt as his lucky symbol. He was easy to spot when cheering home the likes of Mind Games and Paris House, two of his very best horses. Since retiring, he’s been the driving force behind Jack Berry House – a state of the art rehabilitation centre for injured and retired jockeys in Malton.
The race meeting also incorporates a Beer Festival, with local breweries Hamelsworde Brewery, Pennine Breweries, Ossett Brewery and the Bier Huis all showcasing their wares. The beer festival will be held throughout the evening in the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure and racegoers in both this area and the Premier Enclosure will be able to access the trademark best selling ales.
This will be our 9th meeting of the season, this Friday evening and we should be getting underway about 6.30pm.
Currently showing a loss of -24.81 points to level stakes at SP. It's half way through our season here and there's still chances to get this on track, we've another 7 meetings to get that back.
As always we count ALL results for this meeting returned to a level stake at SP, and will also show any forecast results too in the daily results but these do not count for the profit / loss figures.
The forecast going is currently reported as 'Good to firm, Good in places' the weather for Friday is for a fairly cloudy day in the most part, not that warm given it's now July but at least it should not be raining. A max temp is going to be about 22C but probably a little cooler by race time with plenty of cloud cover.
