2015/2016 FOOTBALL SEASON. AFC WIMBLEDON vs YORK CITY (A)

SATURDAY 24th OCTOBER 2015

After an awesome away performance midweek coming from behind several times to win 4-3 against the mighty Accrington Stanley ('who are they?' Exactly) the Dons march off on another away mission to Eboracum, that's York City to you uneducated lot. (what do you mean they don't teach history and Latin in school nowadays?)

The Wombles have a decent record against the Minstermen but are generally inconsistent especially when they play against teams from the lower reaches of the division. York find themselves in 21st place this weekend and some 7 points behind their opponents who continue to reside around the mid-table area in 14th. York is an excellent place for a long weekend break, if you love your history and trains and I do, a win for the Wombles would simply add to the pleasure.

We'll update on Saturday before kick off with the confirmed starting XI for both sides and any further news as it comes available, line ups are now in, no BEAST this weekend.

H/T Score – 0 - 1

First Half Comment;

Wombles get off to their usual flying start, in the opening minute of the match Jonathan Meades flashes a header wide and for the first 15-20 mins or so it's all Wimbledon.

Beginning to worry that the threat has no final product, usual story of many corners but no target man. And then on 17 mins a Taylor ball through to Azeez, ball rebounded off keeper onto Azeez and it's IN!! One Nil.

After going behind York have started to rally and get back in the game but the Dons are still creating chances and Azeez probably should have made it two.

The first half ends with the Dons ahead.

F/T Score – 1 - 3

Match Summary;

Back to back on the road victories for the Wombles, scoring goals and to top it all Franchise Scum Fc lose again too, keep it up and maybe that play-off chance will be in sight for a chance. Ssshhh don't tell the football gods that.

Man of the Match – Lyle Taylor.

Referee -- Nigel Miller (County Durham) An experienced referee today who has been working in the Championship so hopefully doesn't see this step down to League Two as a demotion, at least hasn't had that far to travel. Reasonable with the cards, good luck.

Attendance – 3,000.

Next match:
Saturday 31st October vs Hartlepool (Home)
League Two 2:00pm (earlier start due to Rugby at Twickenham)
