AFC Wimbledon will host their latest League One game at Plough Lane for the 2021-22 season against Plymouth Argyle, it's been an impressive start to the campaign, often very exciting, plenty of goals and late winners. Including last weekend's 94th minute strike from Ayoub Assal to give us a 4-3 away win. That victory puts the Dons on 12 points and as high as 4th place in League One after their opening seven games.
Good to see that the new players are looking to have bonded well and we are already sharing the goals around so the burden of losing Joe Pigott to Ipswich has not been the problem it could have been, it gives me no pleasure to see Ipswich at the lower end of the table either. Back to today's fixture though, with a game against Arsenal on the horizon I hope that Mark Robinson has the squad focused on the three points available here first. We are also finally scoring more frequently from set pieces, the delivery of which from Anthony Hartigan has been significantly improved this season, and I would expect a few chances for the likes of Will Nightingale and Ben Heneghan to continue that run.

First Half Comments;
Match Summary;
Very disappointed with that, dominate all game except for the two mins after the break, conceded a poor goal, then the Plymouth players time wasted for the rest of the match. Should have beaten this rubbish, three points dropped at home.
My Man of the Match - Anthony Hartigan.
Attendance - Not available, seems to be an issue with reporting our attendances this season. Annoying.
Today's Referee - Our match referee for this afternoon will be Mr Tom Neild, from West Yorkshire he's not only a football referee but also a senior nurse/matron with the Acute & Emergency Service at the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Averages around three bookings a game, and will be ably assisted today by Nicholas Cooper and Andrew Laver while our fourth official will be Louis Marks.
Morecambe 3 - 4 AFC Wimbledon.
Plymouth Argyle 3 - 0 Sheffield Wednesday.
Onto today's game itself this Saturday in League One and our opponents today, Plymouth Argyle are well known to us as our victims in the play off final back in 2016. They currently sit in 8th place in League One, with 11 points after just six games played. Early days for both sides, but good to see a positive start and this ought to be another cracker of a contest at Plough Lane. Last weekend they ran out comfortable winners at home against Sheffield Wednesday and will be no easy push over today. Managed by Ryan Lowe who brought them back into League One at the first attempt having left Bury in 2019.
Head to Head
Our head to head form against Plymouth Argyle since our return to the league as AFC Wimbledon includes that famous win at Wembley in the League Two play off final. Nineteen previous meetings since our return to the league, seven wins each and five draws, we are fairly evenly matched it appears. Both are currently free scoring sides, should be entertaining.Starting XI's [Confirmed]

First Half Comments;
We are underway at Plough Lane, where if several results go our way we could feasibly go top today with a win. The Dons have the first effort on target as Ben Heneghan has a header saved from an Anthony Hartigan set piece, positive signs as we should be more prolific from these opportunities. Aaron Pressley also has a shot saved as the Dons are pressing early doors, a breakthrough would be welcome in front of the packed home crowd. Early booking for Ethan Chislett too, it's an eventful first fifteen minutes. Both Will Nightingale and Ayoub Assal also see their efforts saved by Michael Cooper in the Plymouth goal, hope this dominance continues, just need that breakthrough now. Half time comes so fast and sadly we have to go in all square at the break.
