MISSING YOU ALWAYS MUM 25/02 Xx

A VERY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WISH FOR MY MUM.
WISH YOU WERE WITH US STILL. Xx

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday.
Unseen, Unheard, but always near.
Still loved, Still missed.

Will be making a trip to the Rose Gardens at the Crematorium this weekend, usually visit and stay for a while to have a talk with Mum and Dad and will hopefully be dry enough for a longer stay. Will get some new photo's of the roses if they are out yet too.

Only have a few older photo's of you mum but they are all on display at home with Dads too. We are alike in that neither of us liked having our photo taken really, so there's hardly any of me either. What I would give to have just one with us all together. Miss you Mum, lots of love always.  Xxx

KEMPTON PARK RACES 2017 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #6 22nd FEBRUARY

Our sixth week into the 2017 season here at Kempton and after another winning Wednesday evening last week we look forward to another exciting evening under the lights again.

Last week was a bit of a blow having lost 9.5 points but we do still find ourselves in front for 2017 and it's a satisfactory start to the year which can still develop into a successful season. We will aim to improve on the success recording bets from all the handicap contests held on the Wednesday evenings and the occasional lays too.

All our results will be recorded to SP and having ended the last year on a profit we started off the first few weeks with a steady but small win before last week's knock back which now means our current position of +8.25 points.

As always our focus will be on the handicap contests for each meeting but will occasionally include a feature listed or conditions event too. Keeping records of our endeavours to a 1pt level stake at SP, naturally we will personally be looking to get better odds but for the purpose of the results we record to SP.

We will keep up with our occasional lay opportunities of short priced favourites too, once again will keep these results separately from the handicap figures.

This week is our sixth meeting for 2017 and we are expecting a six race card tonight. Overall that gives us four handicap contests to review. This evenings action will commence at 17:45 with a 1m apprentice handicap.

Below is a link to this Wednesday's race card;

EVENING RACECARD

The going on the polytrack surface is described as Standard to slow once more and the current weather forecast is for a showery day with a max temperature of about 12C when the meeting gets underway and looks likely to remain cold with scattered showers due throughout the evening.

Here are our selections for this evenings 4 handicap races;

17:45 -- 1m Apprentice Handicap.

Our opening event tonight is for the apprentices over a mile, and is a class 7 event so won't take much winning. A field of 14 are declared though and includes last years winner LUTINE CHARLIE [4th 12/1] who appears out of sorts and will be a big price to repeat that feat this year.

BREAKHEART [2nd 8/1] is another course and distance winner and can also be supported at a big price now down in grade to the basement level. Not a race to be too involved with though.

18:45 -- 1m 4f Handicap.
We've a field of 8 declared now for the mid distance handicap event, top weight Darebin won a maiden at Lingfield last time and should be vulnerable to something with course experience I feel. OBBOORR [8th 12/1] is one to consider and if he can be ridden closer to the pace might be able to have a say.

Although only a field of 8 there's another at forecast big odds worth a look that's INCLUDED [5th 12/1]. Had been off for about 18 months so could have needed those first couple of comeback runs and has won here over course and distance so 16/1 is worth a shout.

19:15 -- 6f Handicap.
The sprint handicap next for us tonight, and taking chance on STEELRIVER [5th 3/1] with Jamie Spencer booked for the ride along with SALVATORE FURY [7th 33/1] against the field. Both experienced AW campaigners, both 7yo, both course and distance winners. Hopefully one will win.

20:15 -- 2m Handicap.
The finale for tonight looks set for SHAN DUN NA NGALL [9th 7/4F] to win again, was strong at the finish last time out at Lingfield and having won 3 of his last 4 runs can give trainer Amy Murphy another win here.

Staked -- 7 points
Returns -- Nil
 points.

Results for this meeting will be updated throughout the evening and we aim to improve on our current profit figure to date of +8.25 points. Sadly not to be our night, only the LAY bet was successful and we lose 7 points so almost wiped out our good work to date. Only 1.25 points to take forward into March.

Lays -- 1/3.

One for tonight in the 19:45 event, Sandro Botticelli is used to having Frankie on board, has to give weight away to all and might find this small field not to his liking tonight.
[LOST 6/4F finished last of five so at least some success tonight].

Our next Wednesday evening meeting at this course will be on 8th March so see you in a couple of weeks.

NEW YEAR 2017 VISIT TO THE CREMATORIUM GARDENS

Recently made another trip to the crematorium in Hanworth where my Mum, Dad and Step Mum are scattered, it's a beautiful place of peace which is surprising given the constant air-plane noise, trains, guys cutting the grass and the birds.

And during this recent visit it prompted me to think about not only why I go there so frequently but how having a place of peace to be able to sit and think is very important these days. Living so close to Heathrow airport and not having a car these days it's harder to get out to the country.

The Rose Garden on the upper level.

Beautiful when in full bloom,
even better in Spring with the bees out

Several hives near the roses.
Great idea to have some bees here with so many flowers around

The books of remembrance are available and open each day for people to view, they are also available online and we ensured that all our loved ones were added here. Not the best images as the text is quite small but beautifully done.

KEMPTON PARK RACES 2017 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #5 15th FEBRUARY

Our fifth week into the 2017 season here at Kempton and after another winning Wednesday evening last week we look forward to another exciting evening under the lights again.

After a winning night last time which gave us another 11 points profit we now find ourselves starting 2017 in a very good position and look forward to a successful season. We will aim to improve on the success recording bets from all the handicap contests held on the Wednesday evenings and the occasional lays too.

All our results will be recorded to SP and having ended the last year on a profit we started off the first few weeks with a steady but small win which now brings us up to our current position of +17.75 points. It's a nice start.

This week is our fifth meeting for 2017 and we are expecting a eight race card tonight as the final contest has been split into two divisions. Overall that gives us seven handicap contests to review. This evenings action will commence at 17:20 with a 1m 3f apprentice handicap.

Below is a link to this Wednesday's race card;

EVENING RACECARD

The going on the polytrack surface is described as Standard to slow once more and the current weather forecast is for a wet showery day with a max temperature of about 10C when the meeting gets underway and looks likely to remain cold with scattered showers due throughout the evening.

Here are our selections for this evenings 7 handicap races;

17:20 -- 1m 3f Apprentice Handicap.

It's going to be another fairly low quality meeting and kicks off with a class 7 event for the apprentices. Hopefully none of them going to hear "you're fired" tonight though it's difficult what to make of some of these in a field of 14 runners.

It's not a race to get too deep into and we will simply side with a couple of decent priced selections against the field which are FERRYVIEW PLACE [6th 10/1]  /  CAPPIELOW PARK [8th 16/1].

17:50 -- 7
f Handicap.
This is fairly uninspiring too but at least a few of these have won a race, and we will side with FOREVER YOURS [9th 25/1] who comes back after a good long break but is still young and could come good now moving into handicaps for the first time. Will have that alongside HARRY HOLLAND [11th 8/1] who not only has the assistance of the best female jockey around Jo Gordon, but has won three times including around here in one of the qualifiers for the London Mile series, so worth a chance in this class 6 handicap.

18:20 -- 6f Fillies Handicap.
Ladies turn now and with just 8 declared for tonight it's a good chance for BEAU MISTRAL [7th 5/1] to complete her hat trick of wins on different all weather courses.

18:50 -- 1m Handicap.
Ten go to post for the mile handicap, a slightly better class of event now and all have a chance bar Freight Train who looks unlikely today. Our pair against the field are FORT JEFFERSON [Non Runner] who won a pair of handicaps last summer and has only been seen out at Southwell since, along with BELEAVE [5th 16/1] who was a close 2nd to the Andrew Balding runner in one of those races and has been off since then. Both appear about 10/1 in the betting forecast.

19:50 -- 1m 4f Handicap.
The old stager STAND GUARD [7th 8/1] might be 13 now but proved he can still mix it with a win last time out around this track and should not be overlooked for a repeat as he also won around here at Christmas time and has 28 wins from his 83 starts which isn't too shabby.

At 10 years old (a relative youngster compared to Stand Guard) is MUNSARIM [10th 33/1] who also won last time out here in October and could be a danger again. Slight preference for Stand Guard though will try and back them both for the win if the prices allow.

20:20 -- 1m Handicap (Div 1).

The final race has now been divided into two divisions, it's still a low grade handicap and not very inspiring so have just picked out couple of runners which are NO NO CARDINAL [4th 16/1] and DUKES MEADOW [2nd 11/2]

20:50 -- 1m Handicap (Div 2).
Now for our finale, the second division of the mile contest, another 10 runners declared, where we select JUST FAB [10th 25/1] and HENRY GRACE [WON 6/4F] against the field.

Staked -- 13 points
Returns -- 3.5
 points.

Results for this meeting will be updated throughout the evening and we aim to improve on our current profit figure to date of +17.75 points. Not the best weeks, losing 9.5 points tonight. So we've got +8.25 to take forth to next week.

Lays -- 0/2. None tonight.

Our next Wednesday evening meeting at this course will be on 22nd February so hope to see you next week.

Wednesday 8 February 2017

KEMPTON PARK RACES 2017 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #4 8th FEBRUARY

Our fourth week into the 2017 season here at Kempton and after a rare Wednesday afternoon meeting last time we are back to the early evenings under the lights again.

Despite a small 1 point loss last week we find ourselves starting 2017 in a good position and look forward to a successful season. We will aim to improve on last seasons successful year recording bets from all the handicap contests held on the Wednesday evenings and the occasional lays too.

All our results will be recorded to SP and having ended the last year on a profit we started off the first few weeks with a small win and although last week was a loss we are still ahead to the tune of +6.75 points. It's a nice start.

This week is our fourth meeting for 2017 and we are expecting a seven race card on offer, where we will be presented with six handicap contests to review. This evenings action will commence at 17:20 with a 1m 2f handicap.

Below is a link to this Wednesday's race card;

EVENING RACECARD

The going on the polytrack surface is described as Standard to slow once more and the current weather forecast is for a wet showery day with a max temperature of about 5C when the meeting gets underway and remain cold with showers due throughout the evening.

Here are our selections for this evenings handicap races;

17:20 -- 1m 2f Handicap.
We have to begin this weeks efforts with a class 7 handicap so really isn't going to take much winning and with such poor quality on show could easily be a surprise.

So will pick two big price options against the field in this 14 runner affair, these will be GOLDMADCHEN [9th 25/1] and SIXTIES IDOL [7th 20/1].

17:50 -- 5f Handicap.

Another low grade sprint now and continues the uninspiring theme with a field of ten declared. Certainly want to be on JUSTICE ROCK [3rd 7/1] with Josephine Gordon still going well this winter and have that along with WILLOW SPRING [10th 7/1].

18:20 -- 5f Handicap.
Bit better now and a class 5 event over 5f has only 7 runners declared. LITTLE MISS DAISY [WON 9/2] wasn't beaten too far at Lingfield and had to race wide then, so should find it a little easier over the shorter trip and with less runners.

19:20 -- 7f Handicap (3yo).
TAI HANG DRAGON [WON 7/1] steps out of maiden company into a handicap for the first time in her own age group and has been improving slowly with each run so with all the weight advantage should be close. A similar story can be made for LA GUAPITA [8th 7/1] who went really close in her last maiden and the fact they fancy handicaps already is a positive sign when another maiden would surely be in her grasp.

19:50 -- 1m Handicap (3yo) (London Mile Series).
Best race on the card now and it's over a mile, these qualifying series events usually attract some decent all weather performers though it's restricted to 3yo horses.

TISBUTADREAM [WON 11/2] is seeking a hat-trick tonight and is our selection for this event while in good heart.

20:20 -- 1m 4f Handicap (3yo).

Our finale tonight is another three year old event and it looks set up for SERENADE THE STARS to win again but that one seems to be far too short for us. So against the favourite we will take a chance with THE LAST DEBUTANTE [2nd 13/2] from the Mark Johnston stable

Staked -- 9 points
Returns -- 20 points.

Results for this meeting will be updated throughout the evening and we aim to improve on our current profit figure to date of +6.75 points
. Doing ok so far tonight already securing a healthy profit with three decent wins meaning we end the night up by 11 points to SP returns, our new profit figure is therefore +17.75

Lays -- 0/2. One Lay for tonight in the 18:50 Fillies Maiden event, PEPITA who will probably be a short price for this event but might again find one or two better.
 Rats, it won albeit at 4/7F so not too much damage.

Our next Wednesday evening meeting at this course will be on 15th February so see you next week.

LOVE YOU DAD x

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD

This Tuesday would have been my Dads 83rd birthday, sadly he's no longer with us but that doesn't make it any less of a day to remember him. Think about you all the time Dad you were everything to me and I still feel I let you down so much. Literally saved my life when I was young and foolish, now I'm older and still foolish but not a day passes when you are not in my thoughts. Xx

To say I miss him every day would be an understatement. No amount of time is going to change how I feel, and I would give anything to see him again.

Another year may have passed, my feelings are unchanged, love you for every you did for me, sad that I didn't do enough for you in return. Your legacy lives on with the rest of the family and children, your work is still remember by those that knew you.

You may be gone from my sight, but you are still a big part of my life and have never gone from my heart.

A special wish for such a special person. Love You Dad xx

KEMPTON PARK RACES 2017 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #3 1st FEBRUARY

Third week into our new season here at Kempton and follows the sad news over the weekend that Many Clouds passed away after his stunning win over Thistlecrack at Cheltenham. We usually do Wednesday evenings here and for some reason my fixture list shows it's an evening meeting however we are looking at an afternoon card instead. Not put off we will write it up all the same for this week.

Another small victory in our second fixture means we still ahead and look forward to a successful season. We will aim to improve on last seasons successful year recording bets from all the handicap contests held on the Wednesday evenings and the occasional lays too.

All our results will be recorded to SP and having ended the last year on a profit we started off the first week with a small win of +7.75 points. It's a start.

This week is our third meeting for 2017 and we are expecting a seven race card on offer, where we will be presented with five handicap contests to review. This afternoon's action will commence at 14:20 with a 1m handicap

Below is a link to this Wednesday's race card;

AFTERNOON RACECARD

The going on the polytrack surface is described as Standard to slow once more and the current weather forecast is for a wet showery day with a max temperature of about 11C when the meeting gets underway and remain cold with showers due throughout the afternoon.

Here are our selections for this afternoon's handicap races (Sorry but owing to lack of time am only able to put up the selections this week);

14:20 -- 1m Handicap
(3yo).
BEAUCHAMP OVAL [3rd 8/1]  /  LONDON GRAMMAR [12th 100/1].

15:50 -- 7f Fillies Handicap.

JACQUOTTE DELAHAYE [WON 7/1].

16:20 -- 7f Handicap.

LEXINGTON TIMES [2nd 6/1]  /  ANONYMOUS JOHN [7th 14/1]

16:50 -- 1m 3f Handicap (London Middle Distance Series).

Changing my original selection as The Gay Cavalier is a non runner, the first in this series for 2017 where DAISY BOY [6th 7/1] a regular over this sort of trip for his claiming jockey and ZABEEL STAR [4th 5/1] who ran well in defeat on his last start and won here on his previous outing.

17:20 -- 2m Handicap.

Our selection for the staying finale today is OYSTER CARD [5th 4/1] has a chance off the lowest weight today while YASIR [8th 10/1] who won over 2m at Wolverhampton last month should also go well.

Staked -- 9 points
Returns -- 8 points.

Results for this afternoon will be updated throughout the day and we aim to improve on our opening profit of +7.75 points
. We have had a good winner and couple of places so far so we not going to be too far away. Alas no further success so we make a small 1 point loss today leaving us +6.75 points to carry over to next week.

Lays -- 0/1. None today.

Our next Wednesday evening meeting at this course will be on 8th February so see you next week.
