AFC Wimbledon will 'host' their next home game at the QPR Stadium as the building work on Plough Lane begins to near the completion date. Our opponents for this League One match will be Shrewsbury Town who come here after a free weekend last time since their game against Doncaster Rovers had been postponed due to international call ups (yes it even happens in division three now during the international break) they are occupying 20th place in the early table with just 3 points so far. The Dons having won against Swindon Town last weekend are in 10th place on 8 points and going well compared to our recent couple of seasons where we have struggled for early form. Joe Pigott scored our winner last week and remains with us despite various rumours linking him to Championship sides, we hope he stays as this should be a pivotal season for us with the new stadium open in the next few weeks. The other plus has been the form of our on loan goalkeeper Connal Trueman from Birmingham, the more game time he's having the more impressive he's becoming and we've sure had some decent keepers recently.

Head to Head
Our first competitive game was in October 2011 which ended in a dull 0-0 draw and in fact our record against Shrewsbury is not at all good, having played 11 games we have only been successful on one occasion, that coming in our second meeting back in May 2012. Shrewsbury have won five games and the other five ended as draws. As we have started the season well this time I am confident that we can improve our record and secure a long overdue second win.

First Half Comments;
Wimbledon kick off the first half here at a deserted Loftus Road, the opening 5-10 mins see the Dons on the attack but so far not shots worthy of mention at either end of the pitch. Would I take a draw right now? No, lets wait and see. It's 15 mins in before the first serious effort on target, Dons forward Joe Pigott has a header saved after good work from Steve Seddon with the cross. A bad foul by Shewsbury's No 24 π¨Ethan Ebanks-Landell should have seen a red card but a booking is all that followed, shortly after another foul, another booking this time No 2 π¨Aaron Pierre lets get at these defenders now they cannot make another mistake. A quiet first half continues with only another effort from Ryan Longman to speak of, hopefully we can pick it up. A booking for π¨Jaakko Oksanen is the first for the Dons, and the half is coming to a close with the Dons having another attack.
⚽Full Time Score - 0 - 1. [Leon Clarke 90']
Match Summary;
A boring game that was settled by the visitors in the90th minute following a corner which was their only effort on our goal. Shouldn't of lost that but probably needed to create more to win it. Not happy.
Today's Referee - Today's match referee will be Mr Joshua Smith a young rising referee from the Bedfordshire area, inexperienced so hopefully will get a level fair response from him as he appears to be on some sort of fast track program. Will be assisted by Adrian Waters and Michael George on the touchlines and our fourth official is Lee Venamore.
Dons next league match:
