AFC Wimbledon will 'host' their next home game at the QPR Stadium as the building work on Plough Lane begins to near the completion date. Our opponents for this League One match will be Accrington Stanley who come here on the back of a 1-4 defeat by Oxford United, including the sending off of their midfielder Dion Charles. The Dons had a good away win at Fleetwood and we aim to continue our positive start in the league this year. Accrington are managed by John Coleman who is in his second spell with the club and has been in charge for last six years which by modern times makes him 4th in the long serving managers list. Their loss last weekend leaves them in 16th place in the early League One table and the dismissal of Dion Charles means a slight reshuffle too for their trip to London. AFC Wimbledon are 8th so far, two draws and a win has been a very welcome start for us, the new players seem to have settled in well, the more game time our new goalkeeper (Connal Trueman) can get the better he is looking, and the return on loan of Steve Seddon from Birmingham City is very welcome not just for his winning goal last weekend, but he showed a level of form for us while on loan last season that we'd expect that his talent will continue to do well in this league. Joe Pigott continues up front for the Dons, and acting captain too, he also leads the assists and it's good to spread the goals around.

Head to Head
Our first competitive game was in December 2011 which we sadly lost 0-2 and in fact our record against them is not that good, having played 16 games we have only been successful on 3 occasions, the last win coming in the league two play offs back in 2016. Stanley have won 8 games and there have been 5 draws. As we have started the season well this time I am confident that we can improve our record and secure a 4th win.

First Half Comments;
It's Wimbledon who kick us of this afternoon here at QPR's Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium with the heavy rain this could be a game of attrition, Joe Pigott continues with the captains arm band and the Dons win the first couple of corners in the opening minutes. Accrington's Matt Butcher hits the post with an effort followed by the first shot on target by Dons Luke O'Neill inside ten minutes, saved for another corner, we have certainly improved our efforts in front of goal early. The Dons soak up a bit more Stanley pressure and then take the lead from Ryan Longman slotting home after a Joe Pigott shot from the edge of the area rebounds off the post, either way it's 1-0! There's plenty of goals in this game as it's very end to end action. First booking of the game goes to the Dons Alex Woodyard on 27 minutes. Plenty of action for both sides but sadly we cannot see it out to half time, four minutes before the break Accrington score the equaliser from their defender Ross Sykes and we look as though we will go into the break at 1-1 ... nope we actually go in 1-2 behind as Matt Butcher scores right on half time.
⚽Full Time Score - 1 - 2.
Match Summary;
Very disappointing second half display from the Dons unable to find the equaliser and our first defeat in the league this season. The only surprise really was that the defeat wasn't heavier in truth. Small positive is that the new players are showing some improvement to the squad, especially our scorer today Ryan Longman on loan from Brighton.
Today's Referee - Today's match referee will be Mr Christopher Pollard from Bury St Edmonds with assistance on the touchlines from Ryan Whitaker and Louis Marks. Mr Pollard has been officiating in League Two for most of last season and is a relative newcomer to the Football League, has an average of three cards per game in the last couple of seasons, will see how he fares as he steps up in grade. Completing the set as our Fourth Official this afternoon will be Samuel Ogles.
