PONTEFRACT HORSE RACING SYSTEM -- 2018 TURF SEASON -- PART SIX

PONTEFRACT SEASON 2018.

Sunday 24th June.
Welcome to this our 6th meeting of the year.

We welcome our 6th meeting here this season and it's time to get out your flat caps on Sunday ... no not being rude it's one of the courses annual theme days and this is the first Sunday -- Flat Cap 'N Whippet Family Day!

Our renowned Sunday fixtures not only feature the best racing of the year at Pontefract with over £100,000 worth of Prize Money available at each meeting, but they are also the 3 fixtures each season dedicated to families.

As well as special events on each Sunday raceday, there will also be a funfair, facepainting, circus, free sweets, activity packs and racecards for kids, pony rides, trips to the starts of races and a ‘Hunt The Golden Horseshoe’ competition on every Family Day!

We all know that Yorkshire is ‘God’s Own County’ and we all are proud of the Yorkshire we live in. And we all know that Yorkshire is full of whippets and men wearing flat caps right? Well at Pontefract on Sunday 24th June, it will be!

Come and marvel at the whippet racing as they speed up the track from midday. Enjoy ferret racing in the Picnic Enclosure throughout the afternoon

We’re also out to show that Yorkshire is much more than Flat Caps and Whippets – it’s a warm, welcoming, brilliant place to be!

There'll also be the chance to follow all the goings on in the World Cup with our dedicated World Cup marquee! Located next to the Parade Ring, you'll be able to watch all the action - both on the track and on the pitch!

A mixed start to the season means we are currently down by -12.09 to Starting Prices so we can hopefully kick on from there today. We will continue throughout this season to record ALL results for these fixtures which are returned to a level stake at Starting Price (SP), and will also show any forecast results too in the daily results but these do not count for the profit / loss figures.

The forecast going is now currently reported as 'Good to firm' the weather for Sunday afternoon is for a bright sunny day with a forecast maximum temperature around the 24C mark so please slap some sunscreen on and keep hydrated.
