The close season has been a quiet one here although excellent progress continues to be made off the pitch with the news that Chelsea Ladies are coming in, Kingstonian FC have had to vacate and the best of luck to them but the best news of all that the return to Plough Lane on the site of the old greyhound track has taken another significant step forward.
AFC Wimbledon received significant news in our quest to return home, with The Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport deciding not to list Wimbledon Stadium. Chief executive Erik Samuelson said: "This is very welcome news and a major hurdle overcome. We can now focus on getting the last few pieces in place to make sure we can return to Merton in 2019."
There have continued to be a number of signings this summer too with three new players coming in and a significant number having been let go. We hope that together with the exciting younger players coming through the ranks from our development squads we can have another successful season in League One and then look ahead to a new start in the new ground.
