Miss you loads Dad.
RIP

Another year flown by, love and remember my Dad, never a day passes when I don't think of you !!

Probably another day at the garden of remembrance, it's a peaceful place of rest and quiet contemplation, and I've got a nice bottle of wine for later on and will raise a glass to your memory.

Always in my heart xx

I know Dad is now at peace and reunited with Mum, it probably won't be too long before I join them if I'm honest, though I'd give everything to have them back here for just another day.

KEMPTON PARK RACES 2017 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #18 12th JULY

Welcome to our eighteenth meeting of 2017 here at Kempton Park and after a losing week last time out we have reached the midway point of the year down a small amount -4.75 points to level stakes at SP. Given that we'd usually take prices and William Hill offer best odds guaranteed I think we'd be further ahead than we are. We'll see how the second half of the year goes.

As always our focus will be on the handicap contests for each meeting but will occasionally include a feature listed or conditions event too. Keeping records of our endeavours to a 1pt level stake at SP, naturally we will personally be looking to get better odds but for the purpose of these results we record to SP.

We will keep up with our occasional lay opportunities of short priced favourites too, as always we will keep these results separately from the handicap figures.

This week is our eighteenth meeting for 2017 and we are expecting a seven race card tonight with six handicaps for us to delve into so we will be very busy tonight. This evenings action will commence at 18:10 with a Class 5 Apprentice handicap event over 6f.

Here's a link to this Wednesday's race card;
EVENING RACECARD

The going on the polytrack surface is described as 'standard to slow' and the current weather forecast is for plenty of cloud and slim chance of some showers perhaps. A max temperature of about 22C when the meeting gets underway.

Here are our selections for this evenings 6 handicap races
;

17:55 -- 7f Apprentice Handicap.

The opening handicap for apprentice jockeys, will take a chance on couple of previous course winners in SALAH  [7th 4/1] who has a very good jockey on board to help, and SARANGOO  [4th 16/1] who despite being 9yo can still win in this level.

18:25 -- 1m Handicap.
A mile contest next, out of the 14 declared we will take a pair against the field, SECRET GLANCE  [11th 20/1] has a few bits of place form and might be able to take a step forward for Joe Doyle here at 16/1 along with 3yo course and distance winner DANGEROUS ENDS  [WON 13/8F].

18:55 -- 1m Handicap.

Another mile event, a grade higher though and limited to 3yo's where FIENDISH  [6th 12/1] can go well for Mark Johnston even off top weight. Pair that with ROCK N ROLL GLOBAL  [3rd 6/1] who had a place effort here earlier in the season and worth another look in a handicap.

19:55 -- 2m Handicap.
The stayers event next, interesting newcomer to England is LAZIO  [7th 12/1] having campaigned in Ireland last season is now in the care of Jamie Osborne, could be worth a look at 25/1.

The bottom weight SOUTHERN STATES  [5th 6/1] has had a few runs around here and can take another step forward.

20:25 -- 1m 3f Handicap.
Tricky handicap contest now, where BUSH HOUSE  [WON 5/2] would be a nice winner for us with out BBC Connections, winner of a Wolves maiden then campaigned at higher level on flat.

ST MALO  [2nd 5/1] will be our other selection a winner at Newcastle on their AW surface then well supported stepped up to higher grade handicap at York though down the field should find this grade a lot easier.

20:55 -- 6f Handicap.
A sprint finale tonight over 6f with a field of 12 to scan through. Where our two selections against the field are the inform MADAME BOUNTY  [7th 9/2] (wins at Windsor and Newbury) together with HACKNEY ROAD  [2nd 5/2] who won the apprentice handicap last week and has plenty of experience around here.

Staked -- 12 points.
Returns -- 6.125 points.

Results will appear later tonight. Currently we have a deficit of -4.75 points that we bring forward to this round of racing. Just the two winners tonight, and therefore another small loss of -5.875 to go onto our balance, so we have to carry over a deficit of -10.625 points to the next meeting in August.

LAYS -- Another successful fav beaten last week so we now stand at 8 from 11 successful lays. Will update later if there is a selection for tonight.

Short break now and we'll return in a few weeks time for our next meeting here at Kempton Park on Wednesday 9th August.

AFC WIMBLEDON SUMMER BUSINESS (AND THE NEW STADIUM ON THE WAY TOO)

The close season has been a quiet one here although excellent progress continues to be made off the pitch with the news that Chelsea Ladies are coming in, Kingstonian FC have had to vacate and the best of luck to them but the best news of all that the return to Plough Lane on the site of the old greyhound track has taken another significant step forward.

AFC Wimbledon received significant news in our quest to return home, with The Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport deciding not to list Wimbledon Stadium. Chief executive Erik Samuelson said: "This is very welcome news and a major hurdle overcome. We can now focus on getting the last few pieces in place to make sure we can return to Merton in 2019."

There have continued to be a number of signings this summer too with three new players coming in and a significant number having been let go. We hope that together with the exciting younger players coming through the ranks from our development squads we can have another successful season in League One and then look ahead to a new start in the new ground.

KEMPTON PARK RACES 2017 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #17 5th JULY

Welcome to our seventeenth meeting of 2017 here at Kempton Park and after a winning week last time out we have reached the midway point of the year almost level to SP though statistically its -0.25 points down now to level stakes at SP.

This week is our seventeenth meeting for 2017 and we are expecting a seven race card tonight with five handicaps for us to delve into so we will be busy tonight. This evenings action will commence at 18:10 with a Class 5 Apprentice handicap event over 6f.

Here's a link to this Wednesday's race card;
EVENING RACECARD

The going on the polytrack surface is described as 'standard to slow' and the current weather forecast is for plenty of sunshine, and no real chance of showers until Thursday with a max temperature of about 27C when the meeting gets underway, it's Schorchio.

Here are our selections for this evenings 5 handicap races
;

18:10 -- 6f Apprentice Handicap.

Opening up with a sprint handicap for apprentice jockeys, looking at two of the better riders who are booked for a couple of outsiders but both PICKET LINE [6th 8/1] and KYLLUKEY [7th 11/1] have chances. The former has won here, and several places and yet at 25/1 is a decent outsiders, where as KYLLUKEY with good claimer Connor Murtagh in the saddle has already won a couple of races last year off this sort of mark and appeals at 16/1 too.

19:40 -- 1m 4f Handicap.

Interesting 8 runner race now with a couple of NH Trainers sending entries in too, Paul Nicholls has ZUBAYR [2nd 9/4] a course and distance maiden winner and useful hurdler too could be well in here and we'll take that one with PUMBLECHOOK [7th 9/1] from Mark Johnston's stable who won his last race at Newmarket by 10L for this same rider so has to enter calculations.

20:10 -- 2m Handicap.
The stayers contest here, a field of nine declared and while a few have been absent from the flat for a while they have campaigned over NH obstacles however we stick with the proven AW form of both NEXT TRAIN'S GONE [Non Runner] a winner both here and Chelmsford in recent months, plus another on a hat trick MULTIGIFTED [6th 10/1]

20:40 -- 6f Handicap (Sprint Series Qualifier) (3yo).
Eleven runners for the sprint series event, the top one BLUE ON BLUE sure to be popular with Ryan Moore riding for John Gosden. Might be too short for us here, so choosing a pair at value against the field which are COMPRISE [WON 7/2] and MALCOLM THE PUG [8th 14/1], both have recent place form and might be able to take another step forward.

21:10 -- 1m Handicap (London Mile Series Qualifier).
The finale over a mile can go to top weight MIGHTY LADY [6th 20/1] for the supremely talented and in form Josephine Gordon. The filly hasn't had a lot of racing and should prefer this straightforward course rather than Windsor last time.

Will back her together with DASCHAS [8th 10/1] who won his maiden around here in December but only seen out once since then.

Staked -- 10 points.
Returns -- 5.5 point. (Winner 20:40 and a non runner in 20:10)

Results will appear later tonight, hopefully we can have another good week as we achieved last time and move back in profit for the year. Currently we have a deficit of -0.25 points that we bring forward to this round of racing but sadly we lost 4.5 points tonight with only the single winner now losing
-4.75.

LAYS -- Another successful odds on fav beaten last week so we now stand at 7 from 10 successful lays. Will update later if there is a selection for tonight. LAY - PARIS ROOFTOPS in 7:10pm Maiden. Another success as Paris Rooftops trails in 12th at 4/1 so we are now up to 8 from 11 selections.

Back to normal now and we return next week for more of the same at this course on 12th July.
