KEMPTON PARK RACES 2020 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #6 26th FEBRUARY

2020 AW season at Kempton under the lightsWelcome to Kempton Park racecourse here for Wednesday night we return to regular action on the all weather flat track under the lights. So far the opening couple of months of 2020 have been fair, and the meetings come thick and fast during the all weather season. The storms recently have made it a bit chilly but spring will appear soon and the better horses will start to show too. Away from the horse racing AFC Wimbledon are back on track for a big return home to Plough Lane having launched another fans initiative the Plough Lane Bond set about trying to rise significant money for the new stadium and when the Bond deadline passed we had already reached the £5.2 million mark so impressed by this the people involved have extended the end date till May hoping to hit something nearer £7.5m and continue with the Stadium Build. Six nations rugby and a wonderful win for Tyson Fury last weekend have also kept us busy. All horse racing results here are reported to 1pt at Starting Prices (SP) and after meeting #5 we are now slightly ahead by +1.16, results to SP we will aim to continue this good fortune and see further improvement in the results.
Kempton Park Racecourse
Throughout the year we will keep up with our occasional lay opportunities of anticipated short priced favourites too. Naturally we will keep these results separately from the handicap figures we had been fairly successful with our selections throughout last year managed to get plenty of favourites beat so we finished on 40/54 (74%). We reset the counters for 2020 and will be continuing this throughout the year again. Currently a mixed start with the favourites winning occasionally so we are 6 out of 8 after the opening few meetings.

This Wednesday is meeting number six for the 2020 AW season. Tonight we shall be expecting a seven race card where all bar one event are handicaps. The action will still commence at 17:30 with an apprentice handicap contest over six furlongs we should end the card around about 20:30 with our final handicap contest over a seven furlong trip , a race which has now been divided at the final declaration stage.
Here's a link to this Wednesday's race card; RACECARD

Going and Weather -- The going on the polytrack surface is described as 'standard to slow' and the current weather forecast for this Wednesday is for a lot of cloudy weather and it's going to be very cold all day. Only a light chance of some showers too and we expect the temperature to reach single figures around 7C by the time the meeting gets underway. February chills continue, but March just around the corner and maybe it will begin to improve soon.

Here are our handicap selections for tonight;
17:30 100% Profit Boost At 32RedSport.com Apprentice Handicap
(Class 6, 6f, 8 runners)
Our opening event is for 3yo horses and Apprentice jockey's so with Sparkling Diamond [3rd 9/1] we have on board a 3lb claimer so plenty of experience which should always be a good thing. While support for Feel Good Factor [5th 10/1] should be noted and I'm not too put off with a 10lb claiming jockey here as every drop in the weights helps and Erika Parkinson did win two rides ago around this track.

18:00 32Red On The App Store Handicap
(Class 6, 6f, 12 runners)
While the 6yo Viola Park [Non Runner] doesn't inspire too much confidence on recent efforts has been placed and won here, the drop back to 6f isn't a bad move and looks a big price. While Englishman [WON 11/2] is a 10yo has shown he's still in good order and was only just denied a hat trick last time could also go very well again here at a price.

19:00 32Red Handicap
(Class 4, 1m, 14 runners)
Sherpa Trail [10th 8/1] is 2-2 on the AW at Wolves but comes here with a strong chance of remaining unbeaten. Stepping up in trip looks achievable and although this is a handicap it's significant that he's already defied a penalty and might still be lightly weighted. This season has already shown us what Agent Of Fortune [7th 10/3] can do and although I'm sure she'll need a break soon I wouldn't be surprised if they keep trying until the find her limit already a winner no less than seven times this winter.

19:30 Wise Betting At racingtv.com Handicap
(Class 6, 1m 2f 219y, 14 runners)
Twice a winner over a mile and a recent runner up over this trip (Lingfield) makes Music Major [6th 16/1] a place prospect at least for me. Another at a good forecast price is Rail Dancer [12th 6/1] was also a runner up here at the beginning of February and has won off far higher marks than this so at 14/1 represents a decent win/place option for us again.

20:00 32Red.com Handicap (Div One)
(Class 6, 7f, 12 runners)
The final handicap event tonight has been divided and in division one we've a field of twelve, the course and distance winner Mr Mac [6th 16/1] is at least back to his last winning mark but perhaps not in the best form so we are hoping for a little bit of a surprise perhaps in such a low grade race anything is possible. Briyouni [8th 8/1] has similar notes to the above, another course and distance winner back to their last mark (-1lb lower in fact) so both at 16/1 will include them in place bets too.

20:30 32Red.com Handicap (Div Two)

(Class 6, 7f, 11 runners)
And our finale is division two of this seven furlong event, one that might see a big effort off this mark from Violet's Lads [3rd 7/2]  the 6yo mare has won and placed here off around this figure, wasn't that far away last time. While also interested in Molly Mai [4th 20/1] despite her lack of success on the AW has at least won a race and never really been that far away since, with David Probert in the saddle anything is possible at 25/1.

Staked -- 12 points.      Returns -- 7.5 points.
Results will appear here later during Wednesday evening. This season we started afresh and will try hard to stop going well behind but all results are accurate and recorded to SP returns to a 1pt win stake only and updated each meeting. A disappointing start to 2020 was soon put right and after meeting #5 we now carry over a small profit of +1.16, results are recorded to Starting Prices only. Just the one success tonight and a small loss this time around of -4.5 points which means our running total is now -3.34 moving forward to next week.

LAYS -- 6/8. We had a good season last year with the lays, aiming at favourites and not afraid to take on short odds on shots too. The plan will be for at least one or two each meeting and we will keep those results separate from the handicaps.

Tonight's Lays;
There will be no Lay Bets this meeting.

Our next meeting for this year will be held next week on Wednesday 4th March hope you can join us.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM, LOVE YOU MISS YOU LOADS Xxx

A VERY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WISH FOR MY MUM.
WISH YOU WERE STILL HERE WITH US  Xx

Always loving you Mum x

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday.
Unseen, Unheard, but always near.
Always loved, Always missed.

February is always a sad time for me, with both Mum and Dad having birthdays so shall be making a special trip to the Rose Gardens at the Crematorium this weekend, usually visit and stay for a while to have a talk with Mum and Dad and will hopefully be dry enough for a longer stay. Will get some new photo's of the roses if they are out yet but might be too early for flowers.

Sadly only have a few older photo's of you Mum, including this one opposite which you wrote a lovely message on to Dad xx. Those that I do have are always out on display at home along with Dads too, your black and white wedding photo's with all the Owen/Tyler family are loved. We are alike in that neither of us particularly enjoyed having our photo taken really, so there's hardly any of me either which is sad as would have enjoyed having at least one of us together. At least I have you in my heart, and memories.

Thank you for being my Mum xXx

Miss you so much Mum, lots of love always and forever. xXx

AFC WIMBLEDON vs BLACKPOOL LEAGUE ONE SATURDAY 22nd FEBRUARY 2020

AFC WIMBLEDON vs BLACKPOOL LEAGUE ONE SATURDAY 22nd FEBRUARY
Another home game for the Dons this weekend when we welcome Blackpool to Kingsmeadow. Both sides are struggling for a run of form and only have the one win in the last six games to show for our efforts. Did manage a boring but handy point against Ipswich which was followed up with an excellent 2-2 draw away against league one leaders Rotherham. Those results mean we are still in 20th position in the table on 30 points, but that's 7 points above Tranmere who are in the drop zone and we also in touch with a few clubs above us so it's not going to be that desperate miracle this season perhaps. Wimbledon played a game on Tuesday against Oxford and I really wish we hadn't as it was a thumping 5-0 defeat which will hardly help confidence. Five previous meetings have seen three wins for Blackpool, only one for the Dons with a 0-0 draw too for good measure.

Earlier in January the Plough Lane Bond was launched and has cleared the target of £5m raised all done by the fans and all in a short space of time, truly awesome and means we are much closer to making a return 'home' a reality this summer !! You can click here to see details of the Plough Lane Bond, and to steal their catch phrase "It's Time We Had a Home Game".

FORM GUIDE
(Last 6 matches in league one, the most recent result shown from left to right)
AFC Wimbledon -- LDDLLD
Blackpool -- LLWLLL

AFC Wimbledon vs Peterborough United 18th January 2020

LAST TIME OUT
Oxford United 5 AFC Wimbledon 0
Bristol Rovers 2 Blackpool 1

Our opponents Blackpool are struggling really and with only the one win in the last six and could well be beatable today. Currently sitting in 16th place on 36 points they could find themselves down amongst the relegation candidates if they are not too careful. Following a run of just one win in twelve the Seasiders have recently sacked their manager Simon Grayson and has been replaced for the time being by David Dunn who was in caretaker charge for the 2-1 defeat by Bristol Rovers last weekend. That defeat also saw their on loan defender Ben Heneghan being shown a straight red card so should miss this one.
Updates will be published with team updates and more as and when it comes through, the Dons Callum Reilly has shaken off a groin injury in time to be back in contention for Wimbledon’s return to home turf against Blackpool on Saturday.

Selected Bets on today's match;
Wimbledon to win and BOTH teams to score @13/2.
Over 1.5 Goals (1st half) @9/4.
Penalty Awarded and Scored @9/2.
Red Card in the match @11/2.

H/T Score – 0 - 0

First Half Comment;

It's Blackpool who kick off to get us underway again here at Kingsmeadow, Joe Pigott is fouled in the opening minute and Paul Osew having the opening shot on goal but it's blocked. The Dons are having all the action in the opening ten minutes and a flurry of corners, and couple of headers testing the Blackpool defence but the breakthrough doesn't come yet though it's a promising start. Blackpool come into the game more during the latter period of the opening half and while beginning to dominate possession neither side can find the decisive opening and the half ends all square nil-nil. Hopefully we'll see an improved effort in the second half as this game is there for the taking and three points are needed.

F/T Score – 0 - 0

Match Summary;
A disappointing game all in all, we had chances but couldn't take them, at least the positives are a) the clean sheet b) we didn't lose and c) the performance of the young players including Jack Rudoni.

My Man of the Match – Jack Rudoni.

Referee -- Our match official for this game has been confirmed as Neil Hair, who hails from Cambridgeshire and has mixed League One/Two matches this season. His assistants will be Stephen Finch and Kevin Howick while the fourth official is Ryan Whittaker.

Attendance – 4,593.

KEMPTON PARK RACES 2020 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #5 19th FEBRUARY

2020 AW season at Kempton under the lightsWelcome to Kempton Park racecourse on a Wednesday night we return to life on the all weather flat track again. All being well 2020 can be a much better year for us. Managed to have a good win in meeting four, when Intrepidly went in at odds of 33/1, and still plenty of places at decent prices too it's a nice start to the year and of course all the results are recorded to 1pt win only. Away from the horse racing AFC Wimbledon are back on track for a big return home to Plough Lane having launched another fans initiative the Plough Lane Bond set about trying to rise significant money for the new stadium and when the Bond deadline passed over the weekend we had already reached the £5.1 million mark and appears that we have extended the end date now so every additional investment is a bonus in the grander scheme of things. All racing results here are reported to 1pt at Starting Prices (SP) and after meeting #4 we are now only behind by -0.25 points, results to SP we will aim to continue this good fortune and see further improvement in the results.Kempton Park Racecourse
Currently a mixed start with the favourites winning occasionally so we are 4 out of 6 after the opening few meetings.

This Wednesday is meeting number five for the 2020 AW season. Tonight we shall be expecting a seven race card where all bar one event are handicaps, the maiden event has been split into two divisions now. The action will still commence at 17:30 with an apprentice handicap contest over six furlongs we should end the card around about 20:30 with our final handicap contest for fillies over a mile trip. Here's a link to this Wednesday's race card; RACECARD

Going and Weather -- The going on the polytrack surface is described as 'standard to slow' and the current weather forecast for this Wednesday is for a lot of cloudy weather and it's going to be very cold all day. Very strong chance of some showers too and we expect the temperature to reach single figures around 9C by the time the meeting gets underway. February chills after storm Dennis last weekend.

Here are our handicap selections for tonight;
17:30 Racing TV Apprentice Handicap
(Class 7, 6f, 12 runners)
The maiden Maid Millie [WON 13/2] drops in class and has her best opportunity to date in a low quality event. While Drop Kick Murphi [3rd 2/1f] has been placed regularly and comes into this with a level of form that should be competitive too.

19:00 100% Profit Boost At 32RedSport.com Fillies' Handicap
(Class 5, 1m 3f 219y, 7 runners)
A course winner but on a lengthy losing run Voi [4th 8/1] has risks but has been runner up twice in her last three races and might be able to be successful off this mark. Regal Lilly [6th 10/1] is another to consider after only four runs has been placed twice in these and further experience will help.

19:30 32Red Handicap
(Class 3, 6f, 7 runners)
Thegreatestshowman [6th 16/1] is only couple of pounds higher than wins at Lingfield and Chelmsford and not far away in a five furlong Class 3 last time around. Multiple course winner Treacherous [WON 10/11f] won here on Sunday and looks sure to go well again under a penalty around a track he clearly enjoys.

20:00 32Red.com Handicap
(Class 3, 1m, 7 runners)
Only three runs to date, but Albadr [5th 25/1] won here on the second of those in a novice contest so must be in with a shout back over a mile trip. Stepping back in trip is Starfighter [3rd 4/1] who has been placed over further but looks one to keep on side with back at this distance too. While both are about 5/1+ against the field.

20:30 32Red Casino Fillies' Handicap
(Class 5, 1m, 9 runners)
The top weight Agent of Fortune won here on Monday and if reappearing can still take this off 10st 1lb. Support for either of Dancing Rave [David O'Meara] or Canasta [James Fanshawe] could be interesting the latter is an attractive each way option at about 16/1. The Final event tonight was abandoned so Agent of Fortune will have to go again soon

Staked -- 10 points.      Returns -- 11.41 points.
Results will appear here later during Wednesday evening. This season we started afresh and will try hard to stop going well behind but all results are accurate and recorded to SP returns to a 1pt win stake only and updated each meetingA disappointing start to 2020 was soon put to right with the last meeting and Intrepidly winning at 33/1 meaning that after meeting #4 we carry over a loss of only -0.25 points, results are always reported to Starting Prices only. A couple of winners and some non runners helped to contribute to a small win +1.41 on the night , sadly the final event was abandoned. In profit for a change, ahead by +1.16 points.

LAYS
 -- 4/6. We had a good season last year with the lays, aiming at favourites and not afraid to take on short odds on shots too. The plan will be for at least one or two each meeting and we will keep those results separate from the handicaps. Both lays beaten tonight, slightly surprised by the prices as they were a lot shorter when selected, but that's the way it goes sometimes and our stats improve to 6/8.

Tonight's Lays;
Dartington - 18:00 7f Maiden (Div 1)  Lost 3rd.
Swan River - 18:30 7f Maiden (Div 2)  Lost 6th.

KEMPTON PARK RACES 2020 -- WEDNESDAY NIGHTS #4 12th FEBRUARY

2020 AW season at Kempton under the lightsKempton Park Racecourse on a Wednesday night we return to life on the all weather flat track again. All being well 2020 can be a good year for us.
Hasn't been the best of starts with losses incurred in the opening three meetings so far, it's a long season ahead of us though, and we've been close with several big price selections giving us some place returns at least but the results are recorded to 1pt Win only. Away from the racing we've enjoyed the end of the NFL Season with a win for Kansas City Chiefs in Superbowl LIV and the football might be having a "winter break" in the Premier League but for fans of AFC Wimbledon while we not getting the wins on the pitch, we have been raising money to ensure we can continue with our long term goal of returning to Plough Lane. We are a few weeks into the launch of a fans initiative the Plough Lane Bond hoping to raise a large chunk of the essential funds for the new stadium and already passed the £3.3 million mark within the opening few weeks since launch. All results here are reported to 1pt at Starting Prices (SP) and after meeting #3 we are sadly behind by
-22.25, results to SP we will need to improve but have seen a number of big price placed selections so am not that far away.

Currently a mixed start with the favourites winning occasionally so we are 4 from 6 after the opening few meetings.

This Wednesday is meeting number four for the 2020 AW season. Tonight we are expecting an eight race card where all bar one event are handicaps, the final seven furlong contest has been divided. The action will now commence about fifteen minutes earlier than originally expected at 17:00 with an apprentice handicap contest over mile and three furlongs and tonight's card ends around about 20:30 with our final handicap contest over a seven furlong trip. Here's a link to this Wednesday's race card; RACECARD

Going and Weather -- The going on the polytrack surface is described as 'standard to slow' and the current weather forecast for this Wednesday is for a lot of cloudy weather and it's going to be very cold all day so we expect the temperature to reach single figures around 7C by the time the meeting gets underway. February chill still brrrr.

Here are our handicap selections for tonight;

17:00 Racing TV Apprentice Handicap
(Class 7, 1m 2f 219y, 14 runners)
Time is short this week so for the moment just selections, hopefully can find time to update further later on.
A very low grade event to start us off with and one that Never to Forget [14th 15/2] has a chance in even though is a lightly raced gelding for a 5yo his jockey is an experienced apprentice and is able to claim 3lb and won't find many easier races than this. Will High There Silver [4th 10/1] has at least won here, and placed a few times another with a 3lb apprentice in the saddle to help.

18:00 100% Profit Boost At 32RedSport.com Fillies' Handicap
(Class 5, 7f, 10 runners)
The 5yo mare Javelin [Non Runner] should go well here, winner and placed of higher marks and 10/1 is a good each way option while support for I'll Be Brief [4th 11/2], who has only four runs in the last couple of years, should be noted and is stepping up another furlong in trip which ought to help.

18:30 32Red.com Handicap (3yo)
(Class 5, 1m, 5 runners)
A surprisingly small field for this one with only five being declared, top one London Calling [5th Evens fav] a winner last time out here over 7f is stepped back to the 1m trip and in a small field given another shout at staying on. Red Jasper [3rd 20/1] has had more runs, mixes 7f/1m trips and was a winner up at Newcastle on penultimate start. All five have question marks over their ability to stay the mile, but these two have at least shown willing to run on well over the slightly shorter trips.

19:00 32Red Handicap
(Class 4, 1m, 8 runners)
Although not seen since last May the top weight here Intrepidly [WON 33/1!!] is fancied by us did win his maiden here, and has been placed off this same sort of mark so isn't a forlorn hope at all. While Delicate Kiss [7th 7/1] is our other selection now with a great chance of adding to recent wins here and looks on a good weight still for a mare in form and with a good attitude best to keep on side.

19:30 32Red Casino Handicap
(Class 5, 1m 7f 218y, 11 runners)
Baltic Eagle [8th 25/1] has been running over in Sweden with a handful of races in the UK so not a lot of form to consider and was eased at Lingfield of an inadequate trip so I am going to give them a chance now going back to staying contests and not many of the opposition are that outstanding. Manjaam [4th 2/1] does at least have a good run in him based on last time out second, and has tumbled down the weights so can finally make it into the winners enclosure again (won off 92, now rated 73).

20:00 Join Racing TV Now Handicap (Div 1)
(Class 6, 7f, 11 runners)
True Belief [2nd 11/4] Hasn't finished out of the first three in any of his last five starts, and has gone extremely close in defeat on four of those occasions so better than his bare figures suggest on the all weather and must be a place certainty at least tonight. Misu Pete [8th 25/1] was placed at 80/1 at Wolves last time, has run well for us on several occasions in the past and looks like could be in the mood to run another her. 16/1 another for the place markets too.
20:30 Join Racing TV Now Handicap (Div 2)
(Class 6, 7f, 11 runners)
Baashiq [6th 16/1] is still on a good mark and given another chance in a low level handicap to back up his Brighton and Wolverhampton wins with another around here. Disruptor might well still be a maiden but having started handicaps off a mark of 73 now gets to contest this off only 52. While the inform Elusif [Non Runner] has won three in a row and his excellent jockey helps out with her claim in this a race that the horse won last year for Hollie Doyle.

Staked -- 14 points.      Returns -- 36 points.
Results will appear here later during Wednesday evening. This season we started afresh and will try hard to stop going well behind but all results are accurate and recorded to SP returns to a 1pt win stake only and updated each meeting. A disappointing start to 2020 with just one winner creating an increased loss in meeting #3 of -22.25, results to SP we will need to improve. Wow what a great result, 33/1 winner and we are back in the game. This winner along with the non runners was enough to give us a +22 point profit tonight and that means the earlier losses are almost zero but we do carry over a -0.25 figure to the next meeting.

LAYS
 -- 4/6. We had a good season last year with the lays, aiming at favourites and not afraid to take on short odds on shots too. The plan will be for at least one or two each meeting and we will keep those results separate from the handicaps.

Tonight's Lays;
Will appear here...

AFC WIMBLEDON vs IPSWICH TOWN LEAGUE ONE TUESDAY 11th FEBRUARY 2020

AFC Wimbledon Vs Ipswich Town League One
So far it has to be said that February has not been kind to us with another defeat last weekend 1-2 against Fleetwood Town and now we have to play host to another top side in Ipswich Town on a cold winter evening at Kingsmeadow. We did manage to sign a new player Rotherham forward Julien Lamy on loan who has made five first-team appearances for the League One leaders, and he's joined the Dons for the rest of this season appearing as a late substitute on the weekend hopefully we'll see more of him soon. Earlier in January the Dons Bond was launched and is currently just shy of £3.5m raised in it's opening few weeks !! You can click here to see details of the Dons Bond, and to steal their catch phrase "It's Time We Had a Home Game". This will only be the second game we've played against the Tractor Boys in our brief history as AFC Wimbledon, sadly we lost 2-1 against them up at Portman Road in the reverse fixture. Wimbledon are still struggling but are remaining just above the drop zone in 20th place on 28 points and 6 clear of Tranmere, so it's still in our hands and 40 points might well be enough this season.

AFC Wimbledon -- LLDWLD
Ipswich Town -- LLLWWD

AFC Wimbledon vs Peterborough United 18th January 2020

LAST TIME OUT
AFC Wimbledon 1 Fleetwood Town 2
Sunderland 1 Ipswich Town 0

Our opponents Ipswich are performing well for Paul Lambert since their relegation from the Championship and currently sit in 7th place in the league on 48 points so far this season. They are only one place off the play offs with the team that beat them last time out, Sunderland, just above them on goal difference. They have had to rebuild after relegation but stability on and off the field in this league is required just ask Portsmouth and Sunderland fans. They have a great history and fan-base, but you do need a bit more physicality and a lot of luck too in League One so promotion is not guaranteed although they will be strong favourites to win this evening. Up front expect Ipswich to be strong with the experience of James Norwood and Will Keane leading the line, and the likes of  Freddie Sears to come off the bench, traditionally they are a passing team but we expect the back end of this storm to still create it's own issues on Tuesday night. Updates will be published with team updates and more as and when it comes through.

H/T Score – 0 - 0

First Half Comment;
It's our visitors Ipswich who kick off tonight under the lights at Kingsmeadow for what could be the last evening game here the opening ten minutes is just plenty of even possession with little end product sadly, not surprised that Ipswich passing it around with ease. Reached 25 mins and still no sign of a shot on goal from either side, Ipswich leading by a corner and dominating possession still. Callum Reilly picks up a booking for the Dons but with the half coming to an end there's not improvement in the action here. Maybe we will have one of our famous 'better second halves'.

F/T Score – 0 - 0

Yawn, well that was a terrible game, but at least we got ourselves a welcome point against a side in the top end of the table again. We have the leaders Rotherham on the weekend and I will take another point if offered now, at least we didn't lose ground on anyone around us much, Tranmere drew too and remain six points adrift, while the teams above us Rochdale (lost) and Franchise FC (drew) keep them only four points away. An instantly forgettable game.

My Man of the Match – Joe Day.

Referee -- Our match official for this game will be Craig Hicks from Surrey, he has taken charge of our games twice this season which both ended in draws. Does show too many cards but if we can catch him on a going day that might be a market to exploit. His assistants tonight will be Garry Maskell and Leigh Crowhurst while our fourth official will be Michael Webb.

Attendance – 4,745.
