WELL DONE WOMBLES ...
AFC WIMBLEDON Continue their amazing journey with their first appearance in this years end of season play offs after only 5 years back in the football league thanks to a dull 0-0 draw with Stevenage at the weekend.
This marks another season on improvement under manager Neal Ardley (himself a former Wimbledon player of course) and while promotion is still an outside hope the prospects of a Wembley appearance is more than a possibility.
Our final game of the season is on Saturday and will be at home to Newport County and should be a good atmosphere as we wait to see who our play off opponents will be. Might be a chance to play a few of the younger squad players and rest a few legs.
But IF we can manage to sneak into the final itself I really fancy us strongly to win in a one off game whoever the opposition turns out to be. This could be the chance for big Adebayo Akinfenwa to have one final blast on a big stage as I don't think he's really going to feature in our future.
That said he should be applauded for all he's done both on and off the pitch to help the club and has been a great ambassador. Thanks Beast !!
