OO GAUGE SR CLASS S15 4-6-0 DJH KIT

OO GAUGE 4-6-0 CLASS S15
No 838. RICHARD MAUNSELL VERSION CIRCA 1931-36 SOUTHERN REGION GREEN WITH WHITE PIPING, ADDITIONAL BRASS DETAIL & YELLOW LETTERING / NUMBERING ON TENDER

THIS LOCO WAS TYPICAL OF THE GOODS TRAINS FOUND AROUND OUR HOMETOWN OF FELTHAM FROM IT'S CREATION IN THE EARLY 1930's UP TO THE END OF STEAM UNDER THE BR BANNER IN THE LATE 1960's.

PAINTED IN IT'S SOUTHERN REGION GREEN LIVERY WITH WHITE PIPING, ADDITIONAL BRASS DETAIL & YELLOW LETTERING / NUMBERING. THERE IS PLENTY OF DETAIL TO BE SEEN INSIDE AND OUT.

BUILT FROM A DJH KIT AND STILL IN IT'S ORIGINAL BOX WHICH BEING AROUND 20 YEARS OLD AND MOST OF THAT TIME STORED AWAY IN A CUPBOARD HAS A LITTLE WEAR, BUT THE ACTUAL LOCOMOTIVE ITSELF LOOKS GREAT STILL AFTER ALL THESE YEARS AND HAS BEEN TESTED ON A ROLLING ROAD AS I DON'T PERSONALLY HAVE A OO GAUGE LAYOUT TO TEST ON.

THIS COMPLETED WORKING MODEL ALL BUILT BY MY LATE FATHER (MR GEOFF TYLER) CIRCA 1990's. A RAILWAY ENTHUSIAST AND EXPERT MODELLER FOR DECADES HE WAS INVOLVED WITH THE BBC RAILWAY SOCIETY AT LANGHAM HOUSE AS WELL AS MOTS PARK, WHERE WE BOTH HELPED BUILD THE 5" GAUGE LIVE STEAM RAILWAY THERE, MORE RECENTLY A MEMBER OF THE HILLINGDON RAILWAY MODELLERS [http://hillingdonrailwaymodellers.co.uk/] WORKING ON THEIR O GAUGE LAYOUTS AND BUILDING A NUMBER OF EXCELLENT MODELS TOO IN OO AND O GAUGE. SADLY WE LOST HIM VERY SUDDENLY DURING 2012 AND AS SUCH WE'VE A LARGE STOCK OF BOTH GAUGES TO BE CLEARED.
