Good luck Nicola n Mark ...

Greetings, having a short break now off to Rowton Castle near Shrewsbury for a wedding (I love weddings me), so not much to say about the end of season games for AFC Wimbledon except "well done" beating Torquay last weekend and good luck against Barnet this Saturday.

Now safe in League 2 I expect a few more of the reserves to get a start or some action off the bench, we need to build for next season and not just the Kingston Road End which is being demolished as we speak.

See you next Wednesday 2nd May for Ascot's Sagaro Stakes meeting (sponsored by Moss Bros which is apt, I'm off to collect my suit).

RIP SYNCHRONISED - ACCORDING TO PETE

LOST THESE TWO IN THE NATIONAL, SAD WAY FOR ANY HORSE TO GO BUT TO LOSE A GOLD CUP HORSE IS ESPECIALLY SAD

PERSONALLY I'LL NOT HAVE ANOTHER BET OVER JUMPS FOR THE REST OF MY DAYS

WOMBLES OFF TO CRAWLEY & THE GRAND NATIONAL IS ON

CRAWLEY TOWN vs WIMBLEDON

THE DONS GO OFF TO CRAWLEY WITHOUT THE USUAL CIRCUS OF STEVE EVANS AROUND SO IT'S A BIT OF A STRANGE FEELING TO JUST HAVE A FOOTBALL MATCH TO WATCH.

WHILE IT WOULD BE GREAT TO GET A WIN OVER OUR "RIVALS" (DONS ARE 7/1) THERE'S ONLY ONE WINNER ON RECENT FORM.

IT'S GRAND NATIONAL WEEKEND TOO, AND WE'RE ON SYNCHRONISED ANTE POST WITH A SMALL INTEREST IN WEIRD AL & QUISCOVER FONTAINE TOO.

HOPEFULLY THEY'LL GET ROUND SAFE THIS YEAR

Sunday 8 April 2012

WOMBLES VISIT SOUTHEND FOR THE BANK HOLIDAY AND IRISH NATIONAL DAY.

SOUTHEND UNITED vs AFC WIMBLEDON
Bank Holiday Monday 9th April

Southend host the Wombles still hopeful of an automatic slot but running out of games and can't afford another lose like they had to Bradford else it's the play-offs for them.

Wimbledon themselves have gone off the boil losing on Friday to Rotherham and throwing on some of the youngsters for the final games believing them to be safe, might be a dangerous ploy but with 5 games left should be fine.

Southend at home should be too good, I expect a 2-0 loss, anything else would be a decent result.

On the Racing front there are 9 meetings in UK & Ire the feature is at Fairyhouse for the Irish Grand National.

MON NAP -- THE NOBLE ORD [4.10 Yarmouth]
IRISH NATIONAL -- ALLEE GARDE

Saturday 7 April 2012

WIMBLEDON 1 -- 2 ROTHERHAM -- AND RACING NAP FOR SAT

WIMBLEDON 1 -- 2 ROTHERHAM

It's another home defeat for the Dons and only saving grace was the decent 2nd half performance to get the game back to 1-1 for a while as well as the defeats for Barnet & Macclesfield plus the draw between Hereford & Plymouth means the gap remains at 11 points with just 5 games left to play.

Was good to see Jack Turner get 90mins in goal having waited on the bench all season so far, could have perhaps done better for the goals but his kicking and overall play was good enough for someone so young and can only get better.

Next up is Southend Utd away on Monday they're on the back of a 2-0 defeat at Bradford which dented their automatic promotion hopes and could be a wounded beast waiting for us there.

Racing this Saturday at Kempton Park our Nap is MAVERIK in the second race [2.05].

HAPPY EASTER ALL

HAVE A WONDERFUL EASTER AND DON'T SCOFF MORE CHOCOLATE THAN IS GOOD FOR YOU !

A BUSY LONG WEEKEND AHEAD WITH 2 FULL FOOTBALL FIXTURES FRI AND MON AGAINST ROTHERHAM AND SOUTHEND UNITED.

THE DONS ARE AS GOOD AS SAFE BUT A FEW MORE POINTS WOULD BE NICE AND THEN ALLOW SOME GAME TIME FOR SOME OF OUR YOUNGER PLAYERS. GOALKEEPER JACK TURNER COULD CERTAINLY BENEFIT FROM A FEW STARTS AFTER KEEPING THE BENCH WARM ALL SEASON.

I PREDICT A 2-1 WIN FOR THE DONS ON FRIDAY AGAINST ROTHERHAM BUT PROBABLY LOOKING AT A DEFEAT AT ROOTS HALL ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY.

NO RACING ON GOOD FRIDAY IN UK AND IRELAND BUT BEGINNING TO CREATE UPDATES FOR SATURDAY 7th AT KEMPTON AND HAYDOCK. YOU CAN SEE THESE ON MY OTHER SITE www.bigtedonline.com/racing.htm

HAVE A GOOD FRIDAY ALL
