AFC WIMBLEDON BACK IN THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE

"NINE YEARS, IT ONLY TOOK NINE YEARS .... "

THAT WAS THE CHANT FROM THE DONS FAITHFUL SHORTLY AFTER CAPTAIN FANTASTIC DANNY KEDWELL SCORED THE DECISIVE PENALTY TO SEND WIMBLEDON INTO LEAGUE 2 (DIVISION 4 IN OLD MONEY)

YES WE ARE BACK. REFORMED IN 2002 AFTER A TRAVESTY OF A DECISION BY THE FA AND THE SUBSEQUENT RELOCATION OF OUR LEAGUE PLACE TO MILTON KEYNES WIMBLEDON AND IT'S FANS HAVE SHOWN THE FA AND INDEED THE WORLD HOW FOOTBALL SHOULD BE RUN, BUILD FROM THE LOWEST LEAGUE, BELIEVE IN YOUR GOALS, AND YOU CAN RISE UP THROUGH THE SYSTEM LEGALLY AND GAIN A LEAGUE PLACE THE CORRECT WAY. HARD WORK AND AMAZING FANS.

AFC WIMBLEDON 6 - FLEETWOOD TOWN 1 (8-1 on aggregate)

A FANTASTIC GAME TONIGHT AT KINGSMEADOW SEE'S THE MIGHTY DONS RUN OUT COMFORTABLE 6-1 WINNERS ON THE NIGHT AND NOW GO ON TO MEET LUTON TOWN IN THE FINAL TO BE HELD AT CITY OF MANCHESTER STADIUM ON SATURDAY 21st MAY.

THIS IS A REPEAT OF THE 1988 FA CUP SEMI FINAL AND WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DONS THAT YEAR.

WELL DONE TO TERRY AND THE BOYS GETTING US TO A MAJOR FINAL AND JUST 90 MINS AWAY FROM A RETURN TO THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE.

DONS HALF WAY TO THE FINAL 2-0 VS FLEETWOOD

TONIGHT THE WIMBLEDON REBORN FROM THE FA DECISION TO RELOCATE A COMMUNITIES TEAM UP THE M1 (BOOOOO) TOOK A FURTHER STEP TOWARDS ANOTHER RETURN TO THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE BY BEATING FLEETWOOD TOWN 2-0 IN THE AWAY LEG OF THEIR TWO LEGGED SEMI FINAL PLAY OFF.

NOW OF COURSE THERE'S 90 MINS TO PLAY AT HOME BUT THE MANNER OF THIS WIN (FLEETWOOD HAD ABOUT 2 SHOTS, SUPERBLY SAVED BY SEB BROWN) AND OUR HOME FORM MUST MAKE US AS SHORT PRICE FAV AS LUTON ARE TO PROGRESS AGAINST WREXHAM. (Luton lead 3-0)

SUCCESS FOR BOTH TEAMS WOULD GIVE US A REPEAT OF THE 1988 FA CUP SEMI FINAL HELD AT WHITE HART LANE. THIS TIME ROUND THOUGH THE FINAL WILL BE HOSTED BY CITY OF MANCHESTER STADIUM AS APPARANTLY THERE'S ANOTHER SMALLER GAME ON AT WEMBLEY THIS YEAR ... FC BARCELONA (never heard of them) against somoene. ....

SO COME ON YOU DONS, DO A PROFESSIONAL JOB NEXT WED 11th AND WE'RE JUST 90 MINS FROM A RETURN TO THE LEAGUE

So that's all over ...

So much for the week off, didn't really turn out well

Happy to be going back to work really. Sad but true.

Have a good week, shall try and get back to the racing updates later this week.
