Hope you had a good day Mark, 40 now it's all to play for. Time to ditch following the Arsenal and support your local team, how are Fleet Town doing these days?
Vince great to see you out, sorry we couldn't find any sort of winner to fund the evening with and I promise we'll consider the piano bar for you next year (not that anyone will be coming next year after that shambles). Ciara is a lucky wife to have such a loving generous husband.
Neil, Lee, see you next month down in Ringwood, enjoy your rope climbing fun and I'll aim to catch you all later on. During which time we can also think about what to do for Brian's do in July and start reminding people like Richard and Hayden so they can fail to show up, but at least know what they are failing to attend.
Hayden - Richard - where were you, you missed a good day, and a most excellent meal too.
Thursday now and apart from a mild hangover have a pair of aching feet with blisters galore. Glad am not doing anything like Golf today!! A rest day today then off for a day down in Petersfield.
Back for the weekend, and the Guineas at Newmarket, can't see past the fav for the 2000 event but on Sunday fancy SETA to gain a win under Fallon. Further updates to follow Friday on my main Racing page
Catch you all later on ok

HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY MARK JONES
Hello
First of all a very happy 40th Birthday to my good friend Mark for Wednesday.
And off we all go to Ascot for a bit of a birthday knees up. My own being only a couple of days away too, should be a big crowd out later and as Ascot is offering free entry we'll pay the £10 and use the better facilities?
So whats in store for us at Ascot, well a 7 race card now that the final handicap has been split into 2 divisions. Small fields to begin with though, so our selections are;
2.10 -- ZEBEDEE
2.45 -- AVIATE
3.20 -- CITYSCAPE
3.55 -- ELECTROLYSER
4.30 -- OUR JONATHAN
5.05 -- AUDEMAR
5.40 -- DALRADIAN
2-3 winners min expected out of today, but we also have a couple of horses fancied at the away meetings which are worth noting too;
2.55 PONT -- LION MOUNTAIN
4.05 PONT -- BOLLIN DOLLY

Tuesday ... Brighton's Evening Meeting Rocks.
Bit late cos it's already off but not that fussed about missing the 1/5F in the opening 3 runner affair so here goes for the rest of the evening. (And then perhaps a curry ... nice)
BRIGHTON
6.40 -- Got to be on SEDGWICK to pick up the 5 timer the opposition looks very moderate on only TRANSVESTITE appeals as a danger albeit a slim one. Fav to get us off to winning ways tonight
7.10 -- BLUE TANGO fancied to follow up recent win, made all before, better ground now and in form yard.
7.40 -- Typically we've lost one so now only a 15 runner affair. Still on Betfair we'll have the 4 places and take a couple of big price ones win/place. STATE GENERAL 25/1 being the first one, is 10lb lower than winning at Lingfield and that was a better race too. TOP FLIGHT SPLASH 16/1 also back to a decent mark and has place claims, needs to settle here but the down hill track should help seeing out the trip.
That will be enough for me tonight, all systems go for next Wednesday when we have the lads birthday bash at Ascot on Wednesday.
Have a great evening all.

Sunday Update
Excellent day out at Ascot, started with HADRON COLLIDER being placed at 20/1 ... supported in from twice that and good place bet landed to start the day.
ALHAQUE winning at 14s was a great crowd pleaser for us having let us down in the past.
Couple of near misses in the latter events but we left in good spirits, comfortably ahead and looking forward to a return to the Berkshire track on 28th April.
Just catching the Frankie Boyle program on C4 now

Friday, still no planes but lovely clear skies.
Day 2 of inaction here near Heathrow with nice clear blue skies and not a single sound of a 747 to be heard. While I sympathise with those who have been away or trying to go away for the weekend I am pleased that I'm here with a pleasant weekend ahead.
Saturday will be following the big football matches with the Manchester derby centre stage, and the Scottish Grand National meeting at Ayr too.
Sunday have an invite to ASCOT for their Countryside Alliance day and VIP passes including Lunch and a FREE BAR, only wish I could have got Monday off.
but back to Friday night and having updated the main website (www.bigtedonline.com) we can settle back and relax, and wait to see how STREET POWER runs for us in the 8.30 race at KEMPTON. Has an impressive record at the course, raced 5 times and won 4 of them, we look forward to improving that record tonight.
Hope you all have a good weekend
Will be in touch especially on Sunday reporting back from our day at Ascot.

4 tickets share the 17m lotto jackpot....
... sadly none of them were mine. :O(
so it's another day of work, and despite threats from Volcanic clouds that have closed the Uk's airports today am busy at work just on the outskirts of T5 Heathrow.
Went close yesterday with SAFINA running a creditable 4th at 8/1 in the Nell Gwyn stakes. Hopefully we can go closer today with these two selections;
3.35 Newmarket -- MARKAZZI 10/1
7.10 Kempton Park -- MIRROR LAD 9/4
The former a 3yo Colt from the Sir Michael Stoute yard and ridden by Richard Hills, winner of a Leicester maiden last season is now tried at Group 3 company over a mile. Stable know what to expect and the trip should suit, strong competition from likes of Elusive Pimpernel but as ours is 10/1 we'll have a good win/place bet.
The second one is due to our participation with the Daily Mirror's latest racing club venture. Was fancied for the Brockelsby but faded in the closing stages having led. Should find this a lot easier and stable very confident to get a winner out of this early, has turned down a couple of entries this week for this.
The main site(s) will be updated over the coming days for the weekend fixtures which include the Scottish Grand National at AYR, as well as more Classic clues from NEWBURY.

VIP DAY SUNDAY 18th APRIL
Good news, been invited to a VIP day at Ascot Races this weekend for their Countryside Alliance Day, the highlight for this competitive NH card being the "Independent Newspapers Veterans Handicap Chase" open to horses of ten years or above.
This invitation is courtesy of BETFAIR and we'll have the use of their corporate box all day, free entry, lunch and free bar (yes a FREE BAR ... ooohh my poor liver) expecting a lovely sunny day for it too.
Shall post up some selections for the Sunday meeting in the morning and all being well can give you my view of the days events later on.
Today we have the start of the classic trials for the forthcoming 1000, 2000 Guineas which are less than 3 weeks away. Newmarket host the first of the recognised trials with todays Nell Gywn stakes off at 4.10 for which I strongly fancy SAFINA from the Sir Michael Stoute yard.
[SAFINA finished a creditable 4th at 8/1]
Plenty more action to come in the next few days, and we'll also see the start of the summer evening meetings across the Uk. Should have an update for Thursday's Racing on my Racing website later tonight.
All the best

Daisy says ...
Mooo!!
Hello, welcome to a new feature for the site, a Blog which we hope will completement Daisy's racing pages.
We had some feedback that basically acknowledged the updates and results were being kept but when updates were more frequent it was impossible to go back and see previous comments and history. So the intention is for this Blog to perform part of that task and allow for the archiving of results and comments to be saved for ease of retrieval.
That's not all we'll have here though, now the flat season is off and running we expect to keep Daisy busy going around the courses. Next booked trip is Ascot on Wednesday 28th April and you can be sure that we'll have her ready to give us a big updated of the days events and a review after racing of how things went.
It still a work in progress for now, but we do welcome comments and if you have anything you would like us to add (apart from more winners, we are working on that) please leave us a note in our guestbook
Cheers
